Don’t get me wrong it’s a very good game

Its one you love to bits, and in an instant you’re on the verge of throwing the console out the window…the howling moments of AI discussed above happen a lot……I hope I don’t see another OFFSIDE like that again…..
Manager mode is good, but pretty much the same..in the A-league u play in the same 3 stadiums so it gets rather stale.
I haven’t seen the weather effects yet
The PES demo will be interesting
Although FIFA09 lags more than 08…..i don’t know if the this a ps3 v x360 thing…
But if PES lags like it has before, I cant buy it.

A patch can fix these issues with Fifa09 â€" and I hope they do

The keeper blunder is terrible â€" I have seen multiple times, the massive counter lob thru ball…………ball bouncing towards the front of the box â€" attacker is leading the chase to go 1 on 1…………I hit triangle to move keeper up……if you travel out of the box, and hit any button to boot it to kingdom come nothing happens â€" stays at his feet ready for the attacker to steal it and pot it in………..and I have seen the keeper even dive on a ball on the line, and his whole body was on the outside…the animation of him getting to his feet, meant his arms and hands cross the line outside the box â€" HAND-BALL!! â€" but never given

On a loose ball trickling into the box after a ricochet

I have seen the keeper just stand there and look at it, from 3m away from the keepers feet, as the opposing striker strolls in and has ALL DAY to do what he wants with it…

My 1st dual platform game â€" I wanted to compare and I don’t know whether EA stuffed up or if I did buying PS3 version

I am 100% sure these issues are on the x360 version â€" if they aren’t Sony has massive issues for dual platform gaming

EA sports ***les look better on X360 (IMO), as their native res is max 720p, so the PS3 cant use its 1080p power

Wipeout and GT5 still look the best I have ever seen as their native res is 1080p

So basically unless the game has native res of 1080p, it will look no better on PS3

PS3 needs ‘HOME’ bad â€" Xbox live is still the greater online method

I gotto admit â€" my practice on X360 has paid dividends, I pwnd dudes last night from Australia, I like the PS3 analogue stick better, and can control the action alot easier than X360

I was up 2-nil @ half time

Then he scores with Anelka……..Anelka is swear to god was 20M offside â€" this is when it happened â€" it happened online, so it was a crucial glitch

The replays never showed anything as they were taken of the shot â€" he had to run 30M to penalty spot untouched so we never saw the lead up â€" which was an offside pass, accidental I might add, as he could only see anelka on the radar looking like a man at long on with real estate surrounding him…u don’t pass to these dudes, they are making their way back into play FFS

Oh and Free kicks â€" whilst they are good to get, u wonder how easy they are
U can curve and dip the ball like a boomerang â€" once this is mastered any free kicks within 2m of the box would almost defo mean a goal

Now the rest of australia has it, and some of europe I am seeing the same angst

Will still give it a good blast…….but I dare say I’ll be exercising the EB 7 day return policy, and pre-order PES2009 (which in a huge rumour apparently got 97% in a mag that gave it 68% in 2008), Plus u get a free Techno soundtrack for all your raving glowstick needs

Guys not to sure if all of you have given PES a try but seriously gameplay wise it is streets ahead of any other sports game out there including JLR( please forgive me lord for I Have sinned)

Pes is just amazing with off the ball movemnet defence attack etc. Fifa is so scripted it is unbelievable, they teams feel like the run on predetermined rail track formations and not to mention every players running animation etc look the same.

Give PES some time and you will never ever go back. GG I am suprised you have not got into it yet as its game play is unbelievable.

Yeah I totally agree with Bokke. Fifa just isn't instinctive like PES. I was only going to buy Fifa for the A-League and the online multiplayer.

The one frustrating thing I find with PES though; when scoring on Top player difficulty against say, Chelsea, it has this rubber band effect where they just hit back and I feel like I've had my legs cut off. Sure I know this happens in the real world, but it feels a little scripted.

FIFA2009 â€" is officially worse than Fifa08
The franchise has gone a few steps forward in a few things â€" and a massive leap backwards overall
Its no way better than EURO2008 or FIFA2008
After 2 nights of extensive play, online and offline I can back my judgement
Who knows which ***le will be better â€" maybe its still better than PES09
But its not the best…….2008 holds the best EA ***les
Beware…unless a patch comes and fixes a lot of off the ball issues and keepers in the k-hole â€" these are just a few issues, but this game seems to be released with issues which could have been ironed out if taken their time….i guess 1 year isn’t enough or they need 1 month ahead of konami, so lets release a **** product and patch it up later â€" well fark that

The funniest thing, or the most stupid thing I read from fans of FIFA â€" “oh I love the be a pro season mode, blah blah, it totally makes this game†â€" well fark off, this mode was in EURO and was fun, but it isn’t controlling a team, its not the selling point of football games â€" I want to control the team â€" This mode doesn’t grow stale either, when u create urself and have your name called its immersive â€" its like a successful superstar mode (from madden), its good, but its not what I play, after I thrashed EURO08 Be a Pro

I swear playing in normal matches (non be a pro), if feels like its ‘be a pro’ due to the non existent control of some of your team mates

I pray to the heavens above we can have a decent footy ***le in 2009, that exceeds 2008, and has great online play

10 v 10 â€" I haven’t played, not sure if I will, on PS3 nobody talks, so whats the point

I am returning this to EB under the 7 day return policy and putting the credit down on PES09…..if that’s no good it looks like soccer/football is getting a year off, unless I can find EURO08 in the bargain bin

madden is top dollar
its a wonder EA moved forwards on all releases except soccer
madden and tiger went forwards
from what i hear NHL09 is the best ever
but fifa09 IMO is not the best

Oh well it looks like it might be another year playing Rugby 06 on xbox against my mate Doug who is so hard to beat.....or maybe PES09 might surprise me....

If PES get their online sorted this will be the winner I am sure. I have been hearing through the grape vine it is alot better than PES 2008 as Konami admitted they could not handle it as it was multi-platform for the first time in 2008.

PES is all about multiplayer who plays single player now days with online gaming.
