I would like the Scots to win just to see the brilliant bragging matches between SA, Scotland and Wales.

Scotland not looking bad at all on paper though I do still see us as clear favorites, particularly looking at those props mentioned for Scotland or am I simply ignorant in that regard?

Low's solid enough, Dickinson isn't. Apparently we're shuffling for depth (!), and I think most people would say our replacement props are much better, in the tight and the loose.

Edit: If we're going to rotate I really wish we'd try another hooker!

Sunday not going to be a nice day for the Scottish team, get a feeling the Boks are ready to silence them for good

I'll wait and see. The Scots have surprised us often enough and that was before they actually had a team that could threaten. That said I am confident and if we have the right balance of the experienced guys and some of the youngsters that will be wanting to impress I can see the score getting inflated a bit, yeah.

The Bok squad is going to be announced today, right?

According to Sport24 the team will be announced later today.

They also expect the following changes:

Guthro Steenkamp in for Mtawarira
Adriaan Strauss in for Bismarck
Bakkies Botha in for Eben Etzebeth
Pat Lambie in for Steyn (Morne is still struggling with his back, and chances are that he won't be risked)
Willie to move in at fullback.

JDV has a slight cold and Willem Alberts has a shoulder ****le and didn't train the whole time yesterday with the rest of the team. They will most probably play on the weekend though...

Those sound like they are for the good mostly because the guys can do with a break and the replacements aren't really a step down, maybe even a step up ITO Le Roux at least. Alberts and JdV are key players but I think they can use a rest as well TBH. And it's not as if Kolisi and Serfontein will disappoint, particularly with the experiece surrounding them..

to be honest, I think it will be a step up. In the forwards we actually get more grunt with Guthro and Bakkies. And Kolisi hasn't had a bad game in a bok jersey. Lambie, Willie and Jan makes me excited. it's a very potent backline!

1Steenkamp, 2Strauss, 3Oosthuizen, 4Botha, 5Du Toit, 6Louw, 7Kolisi, 8Vermeulen, 9Du Preez, 10Lambie, 11Habana, 12Serfontein, 13Fourie, 14Pietersen, 15 Le Roux

16Malherbe, 17Mtawarira, 18Du Plessis, 19Van der Merwe, 20Coetzee, 21Pienaar, 22Goosen, 23Engelbrecht

That teams hould be able to be more than competitive, yeah. And we need JdV, Etzebeth and Alberts fresh for France.

Line-up has not been announced yet but we'll probably retain JdV though most feel he deserves a rest. Next in line would probably be one of the hookers or Louw.

Oh right I though your post with the team above, was the announced team.

Apologies, I should have quoted Heineken and made my intentien with the post clearer. I don't think that it'll far off the mark though I expect FvdM to start at 5 with Alberts and JdV starting and Steyn on th bench if at all fit.

Replacements:
16. Bismarck du Plessis 55 caps 45 points
17. Tendai Mtawarira 51 caps 10 points

21. Ruan Pienaar 72 caps 130 points
22. Morné Steyn 52 caps 627 points/AN Other

Total BS to have PSdT not even in the match swuad for this game. Another outing for repeat offender Flop van der Merwe? Ridiculous.

South Africa:

I have to say I am disappointed to a large-ish degree;

Why on Earth give PSdT a bench spot against Wales and give him 10 minutes and not follow through here when you are resting Etzebeth in any case and know what you have in Eben and Flippie while I can understand HM would want to see what Bakkies can still offer the green and gold.

I am also a bit disappointed for Goosen and Serfontein but I guess it was always gonna be the case.

The positives for me though is seeing Le Roux start at 15 and Malherbe given another go.

Flop was one of the standout players last week. Why not keep him?? As much as we want PSDT and these other exciting youngsters get the opportunity, HM won't just throw them in the deep end. He has done this with all his newcomers, and as much as it pains us, it's the right way to go about it.

That said, this team could still change in certain areas such Morne Steyn.

That's not wholly true. He has thrown numerous players into the deep end. Etzebeth, Coetzee, Taute all started their debuts and the next few matches amongst others. I don't think Etzebeth has ever been benched.

SA would get more from PSdT being involved than Botha. Meyer is delaying the inevitable by bringing back Fourie, du Preez, Botha. A young player will need to play eventually.

Scotland team announced:

Scotland: 15 Sean Maitland, 14 Tommy Seymour, 13 Nick De Luca, 12 Duncan Taylor, 11 SeanLamont, 10 Ruaridh Jackson, 9 Greig Laidlaw (c), 8 Dave Denton, 7 John Barclay, 6 Al Strokosch, 5 Jim Hamilton, 4 Richie Gray, 3 Moray Low, 2 Ross Ford, 1 Al Dickinson
Replacements: 16 Scott Lawson, 17 Ryan Grant, 18 Geoff Cross, 19 Jonny Gray, 20 John Beattie, 21 Chris Cusiter, 22 Duncan Weir, 23 Max Evans

I expect Strokosch to be watched very closely; he was very strong over the ball in June even if he did get away with coming in off side nearly every time. Scotland not looking bad at all on paper though I do still see us as clear favorites, particularly looking at those props mentioned for Scotland or am I simply ignorant in that regard?

It's perhaps not the expected first pick front row from Scotland given the injuries and Ewan Murray's ridiculous religious issues about playing on Sundays. Obviously Grant suffering a head knock against Japan has seen him on the bench this time though Dickonson played very well against Japan and deserves a start. The back row also isn't Scotland's strongest, with Maitland playing at fullback with Hogg out, and no Visser on the left due to injury. Again though, Seymour has been playing well for Glasgow and played well against Japan and so he's deserving of his chance against SA.

And as for De Luca, to be fair he has been playing well of late. Disappointed to see that Beattie isn't starting however.

i was gutted not to see bennett getting on the subs he'd make a big impact to scottish rugby i think
