The sad thing for England is that a small win over NZ won't see them regain that no.4 spot on the all-important rankings (well at least important for now with the RWC draw looming). Not that a win over NZ needs any bells on it mind you.

England team is disappointing but not surprising in the slightest, for me.

The image of Farrel talking to Robshaw deciding "lose with honor" instead of looking for the win (kicked for the 15-16 against Bokkes, but they still had time to try) is something that surprised us here ... I think New Zealand win by + 20

I'm disappointed that Young's is starting ahead of Care. Not really sure why Care was dropped to the bench in the first place. This may be pessimistic thinking, but it just seems to me Young's is only starting ahead of Care because of his success playing against the big teams. I don't think you could say he has outperformed Care in resent form?

Farrell actually said kick to the corner - the whole team did (you can hear Robshaw, after saying go for the posts, "Can we change the option?" but the ref said no because the tee was on).

Yep - happy that the pack is the same, but I'm pretty bemused if unsurprised by the backs.

Mstar: Joe's massive I don't know what your on about! He's incredibly physical! But he's also very athletic which is only a good thing, an although Etzebeth is certainly no tubby slouch, I definitely think Joe has the advantage in terms of athleticism. He'd lose some of his best attributes if he beefed up anymore so I have to disagree with you there.

well lay off Robshaw pleaseee!!! we done this to death! he is young captain he did what he thought was right he did not lose the game Flood should of kicked and Botha and his idiotic brain let us down!
Sean fitzpatrick said he would of done the same as robshaw!

Anyway...

Do you remember Dallaglio when he was England captain (more caps then robshaw) had similar dilemma 3 pts or try he went for the corner England lost the ball the opposite team scored and England lost the game!! in utter disbelief

The chants in Twickhanam were defining with people shouting:

"why...oh...why Dalla-gliooooooo"
"why oh whyyy dalla-gliooooooo"

the BBC/England management were embarrassed with all the team lol:lol:

Didn't help him much when he was getting the smackdown laid on him by Ben Youngs! :p

*Extends fishing rod into the water...*

Also, Lawes is actually the smallest of our locks, it's just that he uses every bit of it and hits the hardest.

I don't blame Robshaw at all. It was a decent decision, the gap was 4 points and the penalty would allow them another pen or DG to win. All they had to do was not be cretins during the restart and get just inside the SA half...

Completely agree. The problem with that reasoning, though, was that Mouritz Botha is in fact a cretin...

agree i don't want to see pea brained Botha again. He has an amazing ability to annoy all of us AND STILL make his way into the team at some stage!

Saw that, clever.
It sort of reminds me of us against Ireland this year (different scorelines, though).
We scored a try and had to get more points, so we gathered the restart and just kept our composure. I'd expect a top rugby nation such as England to be able to do the same. They should have gathered the ball and just driven on. No doubt they could have had a penalty once inside the Bok 22. I would have put money on a pen for England at the scrum if it was given.

You're right - a good and confident pack should back itself to make that ground.
As for the foot in touch thing which Morgan has started doing, I love it when my team gets to go 20 metres back upfield :p but I think objectively its odd as a ruling...it's kind of like if a wicket-keeper tried to run a batsman out by catching the ball whilst sitting on the stumps...

Damn it. Why couldn't they all be ill last week? :( what the hell do they do if most of their team is down and out with this virus?

Couldn't agree more, hopefully now Lawes is fit again and Launchbury has broken into the team we will never have to see him again...
