Apologies to the mods in advance, I've only made this thread as I don't know where this game can be discussed.

Only found out about this one today, but I'm excited for it as a warm-up for the real deal on Saturday.

Apparently Phil Swainston from Wasps has been called up to the Saxons, well done to him. Comparing the team last year to the team against Wolfhounds could be interesting:

2012: England Saxons: Abendanon; Monye, Joseph, Twelvetrees, May; Lamb, Spencer; Wood, Brooker, Doran-Jones, Slater, Robson, Gaskell, Saull, Johnson.

Replacements Joe Gray, Rupert Harden, Kearnan Myall, David Seymour, Paul Hodgson, Freddie Burns, Miles Benjamin,

2013( Against Wolfhounds) England Saxons: Elliot Daly; Christian Wade, Joel Tomkins, Jordan Turner-Hall, Tom Biggs; George Ford, Richard Wigglesworth; Nick Wood, Joe Gray, Paul Doran-Jones; Graham Kitchener, George Robson; George Kruis, Will Fraser, Jordan Crane (Capt.).

Replacements: Rob Buchanan, Matt Mullan, Kieran Brookes, Ed Slater, Jamie Gibson, Joe Simpson, George Lowe, Kyle Eastmond.

Lots of changes... I'm hoping that the much better starting back-row this year will swing it for us.

I was impressed with how the lads coped over in Ireland & i am looking forward to this game on Friday hopefully this squad will be to strong for any A team.

The lads that stood out for me last week especially were Gray, Fraser & Kitchener plus Daly playing out of his favored position, England's squad depth is very good at the moment hopfully some of these lad will step up & push on .

Is this game on sky or anywhere else ?

JTH was pretty woeful in the second half of the Wolfhounds match, I think Lowe is a much better player.
Would like to see Simpson and Eastmond come on pretty early.

I completely understand why Wigglesworth is in the squad, but Simpson put the team into another gear when he came on last week.

Anyway, should be a good warm-up for the weekend, especially since this is actually being broadcast in the UK!

What's happened to Greig Tonks since he left Saints?!

He's playing very very well!

Scottish scrum doing well, as well - it's been about 50/50 so far, but the Scots are starting to get more of an upperhand.

Turned it on, got bored so turned on the Super League. Still bored

As much as I despise watching the mess that is always England vs Scotland, it does get the heart going throughout.

Spoke too soon!
England scrum way on top, and Scotland lose a prop just before a series of dominant scrums and then lose another!

Think Scotland definitely deserve to win this. Not long now...

Uncontested scrums were the last thing England wanted.
Like Ospreys v Leinster last year.

Great defence from Scotland, stood firm.
