Still apart from our back row there's little to be really smiling about from Ireland like if we are honest it's 2 soft tries we got
I don't know who's slower joe Simpson or a 1970s lada !! Not even gonna mention burns ! Maybe this is why Lancaster is careful who he calls up !
Daly looking good though
Very harsh on Simpson when you consider the **** poor display from our forwards at the breakdown. Ireland are able to slow and disrupt the ball at will and our pack is doing nothing about it.
Henderson and back row have been good and Madigan too. McFaddenn has been very poor and I'd be looking to bring Zebo on as soon as possible. Gilroy not great either
If he goes too soon when the Irish backline is full, with forwards and etc, then he risks isolating his backs. If he takes it tight without organising his forwards, he risks isolating them in the breakdown. Really, he shouldn't have to be organising so much. There should be forwards in position ready to take the ball in in the tight. Poor tight support = poor inter-phase play. Kicking it away is difficult in the breeze. But time after time he has his hands on the ball and is pointing and chatting (not all his own fault admittedly) just get the ball out and away from the Irish forwards
A second ago, at a ruck, Simpson had 3 forwards standing directly behind him and he had to scream at them to work round so he had someone to pass the ball to.4 Irish defender on him before a single English player is in support. FFS has nobody taught these players that you need support!?
That inside pop to Slade was so telegraphed and so delayed he was practically wrapped up by Archer before he received the ball.
