England Saxons vs USA Eagles

Corse you could your Irish! they need more paddys. What was the final score? I gave up on it about 30 mins in

England 87 - 8 USA

Saxons Tries: Benjamin (3), Brown (2), Young, Johnson, Twelvetrees, Trinder, Sharples, Kitchener, Hodgson
Conversions: Clegg (11)

Eagles Tries: LaValla
Penalties: Enosa

:p

They'd make D'arcy captain of the 1st XV, just because he's actually Irish, and they like that

Ouch, I recon I could make the side if The King is the captain!:p

Are you talking about me or Gordon D'Arcy? Cause they would certainly make Gordon D'Arcy captain of their starting XV. I think if he chose to play for them they mite actually make him King. King of rugby!

Does this say more about England's depth, or America's lack of? I think I know the answer...

Can tuilagi play 12? If so Tuilagi/Trinder partnership on the cards?

I can honestly say I've never seen Tuilagi pass, so my guess would be no :p

Tuilagi has a good pass, but why wouldn't you have Twelvetrees at 12?
You're mad.
MAD I TELL YOU, MAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Out of interest, did Ojo play the whole game? If yes, how the hell did he not pick up a try...?

I've stuck up for him for a while but that is a little worrying. :/

m0rris

He didn't. Got taken off for Sharples, who was amazing btw. :p
Ojo still played well, but the finishing opportunities just came on the other side of the pitch

Yeah, though I was far more impressed by Benjamin - his work rate is outstanding. Good speed and strengh too.

Aye, I've been a fan of Benjamin a couple of season now, good to see his talent getting recognised from the RFU

Ojo did play well, but as said above, all of the try scoring opportunities came down the left wing - Trinder, Kitchener and Sharples tries were on the right but the rest on the left (and the penalty)

Agree that Sharples was very good, forgot just how quick he is - ridiculous

Looking forward to see how the Saxons go in the rest of the tournament now though

Absolutely hideous from the Eagles, obviously I wasn't expecting them to win but some kind of resistance would have been nice, while Melhor may have been exaggerating with the "D" and "E", its clear there are some guys from the "C" lineup here and I guess they care so much about the Tonga game they can't even be bothered to put some of the guys they brought to England on the field for this one.

Taking nothing away from the Saxons though who finished clinnically and quickly erased that nice first five minutes for the Americans, who were lucky to even put 8 points on the board.

After taking a look at the line up again I had to edit my post, Melhor is actually correct about several of these guys being "D" players. The bench was actually a lot stronger than the starting line up LOL, I have no idea what Eddie O'Sullivan was thinking with this match day lineup, I guess he just didn't care about winning or even competing versus the Saxons and is more worried about the games ahead versus, Tonga and either Russia or Italy A.
