England Saxons vs USA Eagles

They capped Matthew Tait when he was still in nappies, look where that got him :p

Suppose players like Skivington, Abendanon, and possibly Burns, are already in the extended squad?

I reckon so - 40player squad will have the EPS from Six Nations + the players who were called in for injury at various points

I'd be quite disappointed if Abendanon and Burns are in there in place of Brown and Farrell, but I can see why they could be.

Hopefully Brown is in Saxons to show what he can do on the international stage, whereas Abendanon has been in Saxons for years and played a ton of games so they've seen him there

Burns/Farrell - wouldn't mind either, both great players - Farrell will be done with the JWC before the warmups, though realistically I doubt either will be included in the RWC squad
It'll be Flood, Wilkinson, Hodgson/Flutey

Yeah. Bit of a shame really, because I see Farrell as pretty much the same 10 as Wilko, but actually good :p
I'd be taking Flood Hodgson and Farrell, but knowing MJ it'll be Flood Wilko and Flutey. Maybe he'll get Rob Andrew out of retirement....

Updated the first post with the USA team

Where's Todd Clever?

For that matter, where's Luke Narrway?
In all the run up to the Churchill cup the photos were of those two together

England 87 - 8 USA

Saxons Tries: Benjamin (3), Brown (2), Young, Johnson, Twelvetrees, Trinder, Sharples, Kitchener, Hodgson
Conversions: Clegg (11)

Eagles Tries: LaValla
Penalties: Enosa

Aye, England managed to sneak it at the end after a close fought affair.....

Matt Stevens should be in the England squad over Sheridan/Wilson/Doran-Jones
Attwood over Deacon
Twelvetrees over Hape/Banahan
Miles Benjamin over Banahan/Strettle
Charlie Sharples over Banahan/Strettle/Armitage
Topsy Ojo over Banahan/Strettle/Armitage
Mike Brown over Armitage

All hail King Henry of Trinder?
Stevens, Kitchener, Johnson, Brown and Trinder all put their hands up for England today.

Dunno why Twelvetrees got the MotM. It's not that he was bad, but Trinder was outstanding.

Pretty confident Ireland can get by the US in September without much of a struggle now...

Hopefully the USA don't fart around and pick depleted lineups in the future!!!!

Their top players were all rested. The backline, aside from scrumhalf, was USA D or E.

Think they were both very good - however I do feel that Twelvetrees was the better of the two (only slightly though)
Like that he could just fit in at first reciever so naturally, got great distribution and a big boot too

Trinder vs Tuilagi for the #13 shirt, I say :p

I'd still back Lowe :p
The fact that we will very soon be choosing between the three is very exciting though, because it means we can mix and match depending on what the opposition is and who's at 12.

It is - Commentators said they're missing a few players, but not 45 - 60 players

Corse you could your Irish! they need more paddys. What was the final score? I gave up on it about 30 mins in
