Aviva Premiership Round 5

Ironically their defending has gone just as they hire one of the best defense coaches around. Odd

what did you expect from a team managed/coached by Brian Smith? Booth was an arrogant pillock and an average coach, but Smith makes him look like Dean Richards (cheating notwithstanding).

Games vs Not Nots are going to instrumental.

I don't get the Not Nots this season, they recruited decently over the summer, and were a decent enough side this season, but it's all gone to pots over the summer.
Was Toby Booth the key for them? Delon Armitage?
Nick Kennedy would have been a loss as he was a real leader on the pitch, however looking at their players they're better than their position suggests (though, imo, so are Sale - ho hum!).

Over-recruitment and losing there coach has made them a bit of a nothing team imo. No outstanding player quality, not the best local loyal fans, no real past success and no chip on their shoulder like Welsh, Wasps and perhaps Exeter all contribute as well.

Trying to get away with only having a defence coach one day a week looks absolutely suicidal although there's plenty of other issues at work. I think they started the season without Garvey, Gibson and Corbs aka their best three forwards - they don't have the depth to get away with that.

Agree with this. I think the players they've lost are better than the players they've brought in. The real concern is what happens later in the year. If they don't show ambition in their transfers, or if they don't start picking up wins and climbing the table, Corbisiero, Joseph, Homer and Gibson all only have the rest of the season left on their contract, and they won't have a hard time finding other teams.

Think Quins might get a decent win here - don't think they'll get drawn in to the kicking game Sarries will try and impose on them.
They've started well.

Edit: There's going to be a fight this game, you can feel it bubbling. Farrell and Marler both itching for it.

Barnes' constant gushing over anything a Fly-Half does is embarrassing at times. They do a basic thing like a quick pass or something and I think he's going to have a "crisis" over it.

Haha, bloke gets hit in the head by the kick to touch and drops the 2 pints he was holding. Poor technique.

What Brits did for that near try was awesome, most 13's wouldnt be able to make that run and kick it that well into the area where only good scrambling back prevented the score.

The wind was horrible at the Stoop today. 13-9 at HT didn't feel enough bearing that in mind. Quins should perhaps gone for the corner on a couple of those pens.

Still was mostly a great game. Too many errors and 4 missed kicks from Evans cost what should have been a win today.

That was a horribly dull game, certainly felt as quins failing to win rather then Sarries doing a job.

However, Top of the League. Should silence my tigers supporting colleague this week.

Judging from some of the reactions, seems like Freddie Burns had another good game. Hope we get to see him in an England shirt soon.

What a complete and utter borefest... on display were lots of huff and puff, poor skill set and a ref who just blew the pea out of his whistle. If this is the show case of English rugby then I'd say the PL will struggle to sell their product out with elsewhere than their own borders.
