Aviva Premiership - Round 16

Bath will lose against Welsh I am willing to bet my lunch money on it.

FYI I don't have lunch money as my mom makes me packed lunches instead but the point still stands.

that would be the single most funny thing to happen this season

Sinckler should get a ban for this:

Not that I'm disagreeing, but this happens practically every game.

It's an incredibly dangerous tackle, but I think it would be pretty harsh to suddenly set the precident with Kyle considering other players have got away with it several times a game for years.
Hartley and Paul James are specialists in it.

and they should also get pinged on it....

sinckler could have wrecked Manoa knees there :(

They do - which is my point.

You can't suddenly and without warning ban one player, if you do that you have to go back and retroactively ban all players that have been carded/cited for it in the past.

A clear warning needs to be put out and any further such tackles should be subject to bans.
There should also be a new definition for them which clearly separates them from your bog standard no-arms tackle.
I know I call them cannonballs.

I know they're bad, they're up there with tip tackles in terms of the potential severity of injury - a guys career (ability to walk even) can be taken away.

It would, but the precedent has to be set somewhere, and its not news refs are looking at it.

The real harshness is if it's done and doesn't become a precedent.

Well London Welsh's only point this season came from a game against Bath, so............ :p

I hate those types of tackles from the Sinckler clip above - I like that refs are much more hot on it this season (Burger got binned for a less blatant one against us last week). I'm also of the opinion that a precedent needs to be set - would be ****ty for Sinckler as other's have gotten away with just a yellow, but it's VERY very dangerous, and players are still doing it almost every week.

Sinkler seems to have gone backwards from the last time I saw him play. Loads of off the ball stuff which isn't needed

Big sufferer of 'Kvesic-itus' in my opinion. Put him in a dominant scrum and/or winning team (Northampon, say) and he'd be in the EPS. As it is he's a young guy in a rubbish pack being relied on to do a lot of work in bad situations.

I'd agree, he's in a not too dissimilar position to Marler a few years ago, except he's better at this stage than Marler was.

Just watched the Bath....same issues as the past two weeks really Young and Devoto just not really up to it starting against top sides. Schedules been a pain during the 6 nations having a run of games we really need our starting 15 for.

Haven't got round to watching the game yet so posting blind, but we really made our own bed by putting our eggs in one basket. I freely admit I didn't see it coming, but in retrospect I feel I should have done, and the coaches certainly should - we basically decided to spend all our salary cap on the front line (plus a large chunk of it on a novice, Burgess) at the expense of our backups and cross our fingers that we got lucky with a) injuries and b) the international windows. We have been pretty lucky on injuries, imagine if we'd lost Ford for a chunk of the season, but really we are seeing now that we just don't have the squad depth to compete against decent teams without our internationals. Really, that's a squad management issue which Mike Ford hasn't handled well. Unfortunately I don't share @ratsapprentice's highly admirable corinthian spirit! I would really like to win some bloody games ... !

I also agree that Cook is a key loss - but also I don't like how Stringer has been wasted this year. He's a class player, but has barely been given game time in favour of Young, who isn't good enough, and as a result has left. I wish we'd played Cook and Stringer as the two scrummies all year, the promising youngster learning off the old head and then they'd both still be around and happy heading into next year.

I agree, injuries aside I think the reason why we don't have suitable cover at 10 is because Mike Ford felt Farrell was incumbent at England and that he wouldn't be dropped until after the world cup. We've lost Ford more due Farrell drop in form and subsequent injury than Ford forcing the Lancaster's hand.

Completely agree about Stringer, no bloody cluw what we are doing there Young is also leaving at the end of the season so why are we even playing Young? Not like we need loyalty from him.

On another note sounded like a great crowd at Exeter.

I can't remember the last time the top 6 sides were this closely packed together.

Wasps

Home Saracens
Away Northamptom Saints
Away London Welsh
Home Exeter Chiefs
Home Leicester Tigers
Away London Irish

Its so hard to predict, just as Wasps' form has been hard to predict.
Given the competition we probably need 20 points out of that lot..

It's been quite a good season I think

Its been a good season... Weird to think we're effectively equal 2nd though, as I think we've been pretty wasteful. Just shows what bonus points can do for you.

Saints away is a definite loss.
Welsh away is a definite win.
The others are in the middle
