So this is where it gets complex,

Did she receive a form your local authority to declare she was only voting in this country? If no your local presiding officer and local authority have engaged in voter surpression.

Did she fill out said form before the given deadline? If yes your local presiding officer and local authority have engaged in voter surpression are duty bound to ensure you are allowed to vote. Failure to do so is voter surpression, the presiding officer within the polling station should also be following up if you believe that said form was filled out. Not telling you a cock and bull story about citizenship.
Most likely the dizzy sod (who I love more than any other) couldn't be arsed to fill the form out. Sorry mate I do have a great deal of respect for you but to think there is some kind of conspiracy to stop EU citizens from voting is kind of crazy

I don't think there's a conspiracy just bureaucracy stopping forms getting out and then presiding officers not being given the proper information.

It's still voter surpression, the authorities are required to get this stuff right and are duty bound by law to do so. Think of it like corperate negligence just because there was no intent to break the law doesn't mean they are liable for it.

May is so disliked in her party now even though it is very likely she'll announce her departure date today people are still resigning.

I love how this will probably lessen Trump's state visit as he'll be seeing a PM with days left in their term.

It'll be 15 mins late and she'll say nothing of consequence like very other time ;)

There's probably time to organise a game of bullsh1t bingo. I'm guessing she'll wheel out the same old phrases like 'national interest', 'leaving the EU in an orderly and timely manner' not to mention having a dig at Parliament for not backing her deal and Labour for not compromising in the talks.

7th June

She banging on about compromise now.....you couldn't make that shite up.

It seems like compromise applies to everyone else except her. Quite a teary finish.

I hope people still give the Tories a kicking after she leaves because it's not all down to her. They are a complete shower of selfish greedy tossers who don't give a monkey's about the national interest.

Did feel sorry for her at the end and the fact that part will be the clip they keep showing.

Nothing wrong with showing emotion - I think she'll get a fair bit of sympathy for that.

It clearly was a tough gig and calling a snap election that backfired was the beginning of the end. It's not all down to her - she is part of a party full of selfish greedy stubborn and cowardly tossers. The likes of BoJo, JRM, Steve Baker etc. make my stomach turn and I hope the ERG don't get one of their own in the hot seat.

So... It's official, absolutely nothing political can possibly happen for the next couple of weeks.

I'm actually sad to see her go, not because she was good, or competent, but because her incompetence and unpopularity did seem to out the breaks on the rabid wing of the Tory party. PM Johnson will further enable them, and quite possibly bring the DUP back inside too.
Thankfully, parliament is so divided, even that might not be enough, though PM Johnson will probably be happy to wind the clock down to Halloween and claim that it was all out of his hands. I doubt that he'd risk a GE, admit runs the risk of stopping Brexit altogether, and currently, the Tories would get a right kicking, make ampretense at trying to change things whilst waiting for the deadline to come, and call a GE late October, get his brexit, and still have the chance to blame May for everything.
Hell want some time in charge to consolidate before sniping from the opposition benches

Pity the poor sod who wants the poison chalice.
With all parties split there is not a cat in hells chance of any deal.
Aka we get no deal brexit.
GE. becomes inevitable as no legislation passes parliament.
Labour and SNP form collation government with promise of new referendum on independence. Scotland votes 52 48 for it.
Corbyn consign Labour party to a minority government.
Another GE
Tories take power for the foreseeable future.
Boris now becomes Trump junior.
For all her faults no chance May could deliver any Brexit deal.

I'm starting to think that the quickest way to get rid of Boris and Corbyn is to have a snap GE which the Tories will hopefully lose and allow Corbyn to make a complete arse of everything in a matter of months, after which everyone will be calling for him to go.

Relief that she's finally confirmed she is going.

If Corbyn became PM he would cling on regardless of how **** he was doing. Hasn't the last 4 years of him as opposition leader Shown that.

He is a stubborn old git but there's always a way. If the anti semitism thing ramped up, his whole cabinet quit and someone mounted a party leadership challenge and if all else fails a no confidence vote in the Government.

I'd go with that quite honestly

Heeeeeere's Boris.

How long before we're looking back on the May years (both of them) with tearful nostalgia?

Hold no sympathy for her at all.
Awful PM, who pushed some of the most backwards thinking internet laws of our time.
