More can kicking but dragging Corbyn in to agree a deal.

I just can't see them agreeing on a deal. She's too stubborn and won't compromise while he just wants a General Election so that he can get the keys to no.10. Whatever he insists on will almost certainly be a deal breaker for the ERG and probably her too. Neither of them can put country before party.

"So what about getting rid of any of those redlines?"

"No"

"Seeya"

Complete with an extension request, with no proposal for why the EU should grant it.
Prepare for the request to be rejected, and May to genuinely be surprised by that, and to be paralysed with indecision

I think this just about sums up the attitude of the country towards Parliament right now:

No way man.

This decision will affect the plight of the country for 50+ years.

Don't arrive at some shite decision just because of a deadline.

If needs be, revoke Art. 50 then sort the shite out and invoke it again in a couple of years when a pathway forward is fully mapped out.

The problem is that politicians are putting themselves before national interest. May is hell bent on delivering it under her watch in order to protect her own legacy. Revoking and then invoking later on under a stable and competent Government with a decent majority (which would be the sensible thing to do) is of no interest to her.

Apparently most of the cabinet were pushing May to go for a No deal Brexit yesterday but Gove and Attorney General Geoffrey Cox spoke up and persuaded her not to go for it. Now the ERG are livid with her for killing their dream because it looks like we are heading for a softer Brexit and the winning indicative vote will be binding, assuming May can't agree a deal with Corbyn which is likely given how stubborn they both are.

Surely the best motion is May's deal + confirmatory vote which will probably get a majority. Either that or May's deal + customs union + confirmatory vote.

Am I reading that scrolling news right? Another conservative MP (Nigel Adams) has resigned (this time because May is TOO willing to compromise)?
Does that bring Conservatives down to 311? And therefore Con+DUP can't bring a majority in the house of commons, even without Sinn Fein taking their seats?

ETA: No
sorry, I think it's now 312+10, with 8 empty seats (7 Sinn Fein + 1 vacant*), so they can combine for a majority of 1 - assuming the latest update I looked at included Nick Boles' switch

* Newport West, Labour since 1987, by-election tomorrow, voted Leave in 2016

I don't know the numbers but May essentially needs Labour support now because after what she did yesterday she has lost all the far right ERG ***** who reluctantly backed her in MV2. They will revert to voting against her deal like they did in MV1.

Personally I don't understand why the Tories can't vote on their position re. Europe at their annual party conference and all of their members have to accept the majority. They are essentially a coalition of centre right politicians and far right euro sceptics. Maybe the far right need to join Farage's Brexit party because they are a single issue shower with no interest in anything else. They won't do that because they know they'll never win power and have hijacked the centre right.

One defection to the new Change UK party represents a swing of two and so we're not that far away from them losing their majority altogether. It would be hilarious if Sinn Fein rocked up unexpectedly at the next round of indicative votes. On a serious note I don't think any party should be allowed to win seats if they have no intention of turning up.

IDS on Corbyn "A harsh Marxist whose only goal in life is to do ireperable harm to this country" "The worst thing about this is that she has legitimised him as a politician"

Quotes may be slightly inaccurate, I was offline when that interview started broadcasting.

I don't remember this much (open) hostility and disrespect within the commons ever; and it's all one-sided. It's almost like they've seen the murder of Jo Cox, and a plausible plot to assassinate Rosie Cooper and decided to up the hate speech against Labour!

Tories really need to stop with this ****

You would think being the leader of the opposition would've legitimised him....
Not to mention persistently winning votes for 36 years.

I'm no Corbyn fan, but this blind hatred is way too far, and actively dangerous, and completely opposed to my personal political view (cooperation and consensus...)

The far right Tories are losing it and proving themselves to be a nasty, vicious self serving shower of tossers. Corbyn will earn a lot of sympathy from the public if this shower continue with their narrative.

Video going around of British soldiers firing at a photo of Corbyn on a shooting range

I have to say there is something absolutely hilarious watch the ERG realise they've completely overplayed their hand and have now lost their minds.

I just wish the center-right Tories told them to duck off years ago.

Brexit will still be **** Clarke's customs union still creates problems. But I'm taking little vixtories.
