That... didn't end well.
He couldn't shut up about it; and there was only so long I could take it.
I'm not going to lose sleep about upsetting a racist arsehole though, even if he ends up giving me bad reviews etc. He obviously thinks I'm an idiot for thinking that Brexit will lead to increased immigration from ROTW - he also thinks it's a good thing that the sterling is plumetting, so that no-one wants to come here anymore - that was my final straw.

He's going to love it when plummeting sterling means he can no longer afford your services (or the racist guy he can find instead of you).

I know the news makes it hard but don't talk politics with new people (not you, clearly him). It can quite heated with more extreme views or you have sit there and bite your tounge.

Had a difficult time in the barbers recently on a less extreme view of 'kick out foreign criminals'.

Still fair play to you dunno if I could manage it. Bad enough trying to sound out peoples views in a new office.

Leadership challenge wins the race; quite honestly, it had to after her latest delay on actually doing anything.

Now we just need someone who's willing to take on the role, and preferably someone competent - otherwise this is just a meaningless gesture that means she can't be challenged for another 12 months.
My bet is on meaningless gesture, quite honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if she's unopposed for the challenge.

Can the official opposition not call for a vote of no confidence in the whole Government?

Get him sectioned, you have the power

Still requires a majority really depends on the DUP, I think Tories will fall in line for that one as they are unlikely to win (I foresee an even more hung parliament). The DUP are unlikely to wield as much power as they do now and I think nobody knows what they'll do because of it.

I think she will survive the vote as too many MP's will be afraid of the pound crashing if the vote goes through.

As for her deal, honestly there is no other deal and again too many MP's are afraid of the economic consequences of a no deal. Will be hilarious when the people blame the government for economic woes when no deal brexit is what they wanted all along.

How many is Labour + Scots?

Sturgeon publicly said if Corbyn tries to take down the Tories then the SNP will back him

How did she get into bed with the DUP? Everyone could see how it was going to pan out, they are and always will be the most predictable political party in the world.

It's not quite cutting off your nose to spite your face, it's more replacing your nose with a bunch of nationalistic and repressive wankers. It basically has the same effect.

How about an outside bet on Article 50 being revoked before Christmas? Vast majority of MPs never wanted Brexit so its not surprising they are making a hash of it. Everyone is panicking about a no deal yet they wont agree the Prime Ministers deal which shows that really they just want Brexit to fail.

You need 326 seats for majority they currently hold 297. The SNP will also likely demand a scottish independence referendum, as well as a means of cancelling Brexit. Cant't see thing shifting enough SNP more likely to lose seats again than gain them and I can't see Labour getting enough support outside core Corbyn fanatics.

I think I read that Plaid and their 4 seats will back this as well - not much but can make the difference (as we saw with the votes last week).

I think on reflection a motion of no confidence and a GE is the most likely scenario.

May will survive, a non insignificant amount will resign the whip. They'll back the no confidence vote.

I think it depends on how scared MP's on both sides of the house are of a no deal. I think that MP's will vote for the deal eventually as they can't be seen to go against the referendum, but won't want a no deal. They may vote it down the first time, but once the pound plunges further and the date gets closer they will back it.

Anyone can; it just needs enough support to actually become a thing.
However, Corbyn blinked, and missed his chance.
Had he called it yesterday; he'd likely have succeeded and forced a General Election. As of 8.00 this morning though, it's too late; it'd be a PR disaster to try that whilst there's a leadership challenge going on;his next chance is when we know the results of said challenge, who is leader, and how well supported she is... and whether the DUP can be tempted to risk all their influence (and £££) that they'd lose if anyone won an outright majority at any GE.

Interesting... does this leadership challenge now mean that conservatives actually support the right of people to change their mind within a 3 year time-frame; and be asked their opinion again?
Or is it only conservatives that get a 2nd vote, nobody else is allowed because that'd be undemocratic?

Latest scuttlebutt is May will see out Brexit, resign, new PM, GE called.

Looks like she's going to romp the No confidence vote which means she'd be safe for another 12 months. The projected voting numbers on her deal was an absolute hammering (around 200 vote defeat) and I don't see 100 changing their mind based on some token wording changes. That leaves her with no choice but to go to the people either with a snap GE or a second ref. Seems like she won't resign and yet won't fight another GE as leader. The process of elimination leaves a second ref.
