Article 50 to be revoked? Does that mean we just start all over again or just delay?

A lot of people grumbling that this is essentially a delaying tactic to hold onto power until after Christmas at least. She can delay the vote for as long as she wants potentially, which will stop a heavy defeat in parliament and basically end up being "May's Deal or No Deal" come the new year, leaving no time for a General Election in the event of her deal being defeated?

Bear in mind I've mostly seen this from very pro Remain Labour sources - we'll see come 3:30pm what the hell she plans to do - or more likely we'll get more stalling bulls**t.

Ireland had and have plenty of other crops and livestock. What Ms. Patel doesn't realise is there'd more likely be a food shortage in the UK because we export a **** tonne of food there and Westminster can't force us to export like they did in 1845 because the country isn't dirt poor anymore!

But sure look, making idle threats which immediately remind everyone of what is widely considered as a deliberate act of genocide by the UK on the Irish might just keep the woman her seat next time elections come around with the current state of the nation.

I think you've summed up exactly how the rest of Europe see the brexis negotiations. We're bewildered at the UK's bewilderment that the EU won't give them an easy ride!

Swear I've read that Ireland is pretty well prepared for this, and are in the process of investing in a new fleet of ferries anyway, which will allow them to pretty much bypass UK ports and head straight to mainland Europe? Don't think it'd be the ideal situation, but wouldn't leave them (or their main EU trade partners) much worse off, if at all?

Unlike ports like Holyhead, Pembroke Dock etc. which rely heavily on Irish trade...

Would this delay of the vote - so that she can change... nothing at all, as it's already been negotiated and passed by the other party... could this open her up for another "contempt of parliament" vote?
How many of those can she possibly lose before having to resign or face a vote of no confidence?

Nothing to worry about, the EU will make a very favorable deal any day now as they are just desperate to keep trading with us on our term. Remember, we are negotiating from a position of strength and the disjointed EU will not be able to present a credible front against May, backed by the mandate of the referendum!

- Brexiters 2016.

Remember, when we "take back control", these are the people who will be at the controls. Doesn't that just fill you with confidence?

Honestly the rest of the world is just laughing at us. Brexit has just become one big joke and the punchline may still well be no deal with WTO rules and us having to negotiate with the rest of the world not just the E.U.

DAMN knew I'd miss out on all fun flying out to Canada.

No idea whats May's endgame plan is here. 2nd referendum (which this time is legally binding) has to be the only option now surely? No idea what would be on that ballot.

Parliment will be at deadlock regardless of the plan put forward.

May's red lines has made a straight jacket of her own making. She'll go to Brussells to get clarification, a bit of tinkering to the wording but still the same Backstop clause that we'll remain in the Customs and Single market if no trade deal is agreed by 31 December 2020. All she is doing is biding her time now to get closer to the 29 March date and play Brinkmanship with HOC to force them to accept her deal. She has no shame.

What would a 2nd referendum ask? Do you accept May's deal or leave under WTO? Just passing the buck back to the "people" who haven't got a bloody clue what they are voting for.

May coming here to Dublin tomorrow presumably to ask us to get rid of the backstop. She'll get told to **** right off because thankfully one of the heads of state cares about stopping their country descending into war again!

A hard border will kill 100s of people, it doesn't take a person with an intricate knowledge of Irish history to know that.

Well apparently she is having a meeting with the guy who can trigger the no confidence vote so she may not get to you.

Leadership challenge wins the race; quite honestly, it had to after her latest delay on actually doing anything.

Now we just need someone who's willing to take on the role, and preferably someone competent - otherwise this is just a meaningless gesture that means she can't be challenged for another 12 months.
My bet is on meaningless gesture, quite honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if she's unopposed for the challenge.

I vote for Ken Clarke.
Week 1: Revoke Article 50
Week 2: Call a General Election
Week 3: Retire from politics
Fair one,
The next PM is getting a poisoned chalice,
Get Dennis Skinner in to call everyone a bunch of see you next Tuesdays and then retire

This patient is going to be tough (getting changed right now)
He wants No Deal Brexit so we can kick out all the Indians and Muslims.

Tongue being bitten - hard
