Good piece obviously most on here would never credit Cameron or Osborne with achieving anything in those negotiations.

But then the only real pro Euro party was the lib dems and they were smashed in the last election.

TIL that there is Black history month in the UK.... Why?

Also why not Asian history month etc etc

Didn't relealied it has been going on since 1987.

Presumably because it was created by a black fella to celebrate his culture.

Well, unless you have one for every single other race, it is very easy to argue that having only one (black history) is discriminatory, which ironically enough, appears to be the point they are trying to fight against.
Why stop with races? Lets include ethnicity, religions, nationalities, the lot. We'll have one day a year focusing on each, at the expense of course, of having less days for maths, sciences, etc...

In a nutshell, they are discriminating using the flag of anti discrimination as an excuse. Doesn't add up.

Are you saying I can't get ****** on Paddy's Day anymore?

No one's stopping anyone from asking for Asian history month, or whatever. We'll probably have one if people want one. Celebrated in May in a lot of countries; no one's felt the need to add one here yet. Can if they want.

We have Agatha Christie week, National Cupcake week, Red Squirrel week... there's International No Diet Day... International Talk Like a Pirate Day... and on and on and on. We celebrate pretty much anything these days, why not Black History?

If other groups want an event dedicated solely to their history, they can always ask/set one up and see if takes off.

The absence of other X History Months isn't discriminatory; it is just no one else has felt strongly enough about them.

@TRF_Peat

Simple question: Is a single taxpayer cent going into any of this? If not, then i agree with you.

No idea. Probably though. Taxpayer money goes on just about everything after all.

Labour demanding to know how the government manged to secure 7000 jobs in Sunderland with Nissan. How far have labour drifted from its traditional routes.

the us election is surprisingly close.

If I was a democrat I would be worried about the similarities it is getting with Brexit. Like Brexit instead of focusing on the positives of their POV they are focusing on how anyone who supports trump is a racist or something.

Can see America feking this up TBH.

Mind you says a lot about Hilary that she can't wipe the floor with Trump (who is no Farage).

Its truly extraordinary, lesser of two evils, car crash stuff. Would be funny if it wasn't so serious.

Spare a thought for Chelsea Clinton though. Have any parents ever embarrassed a child more?

It's not really that close at all Trump is still running incredibly uphill to get the electoral college although 'it's possible' he might win the popular vote

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/2016_elections_electoral_college_map.html

The latest e-mail stuff is unlikely to sway voters but may reduce turnout. The problem is while it may increase Trump rhetoric nothing has been revealed other than the investigation being reopened someone voting Hillary is unlikely to change their minds at this point.

The BBC (and others) have written good articles to explain why Brexit style shock is unlikely to happen. Main reason being whilst the final result of Brexit was a shock we all knew it was incredibly close going in (re-qriting of history seams to be it was clear we'd remain beforehand and it was landslide victory for leave). Whilst I convinced myself by the time I'd gone to sleep that night remain would win (Farage had conceded after polls closed), I was by no means confident going into polling day.

Hillary would have to lose Nevada, North Carolina, and Florida for her to fail to reach 270. Those are the three states predicted to go her way that could still swing either way. I highly doubt she will lose all three.

Even then the vote would go to the House of Representatives with each state getting one vote. This would get weird cause neither Hillary or Trump would get elected by the House. House is very conservative and Trump is as bad for Republicans politically has Hillary.

Yup the electoral college map I showed greys out all states that are within the margin of error (5%). Any of the blue or red states require major upsets to lose.

Trump would have to win in every grey state except Maine 2nd to win outright. He can draw if he takes all but Nevada OR Iowa. However Maine 2nd and Iowa or Nevada, Hillary wins, any other state Hillary wins.

The reality is electoral college Math makes it extremely hard for Trump to win and he's still not closing the gap enough after this weekend.
