A Political Thread pt. 2

Well this is great news for Irish relations. This has nothing to do with Christianity so they should be able to iron all this nonsense out and move forward any day now.

Joking aside, I can see what you're both saying and you're right to a certain extent, if there was no religion we'd find lots of other things to divide ourselves over and fight about but it is diengenious to the extreme to say this has little to nothing to do with religion because it literally has a lot to do with it, whether you believe its just a label and not important with other factors being more relevant or not doesn't make a difference really, fact remains it's a key factor.

It's a factor in name only imo - it's not like it's a conflict over the intricacies of biblical analysis. You take the religion out, the identity problem remains.

Should add that obviously, that is based on a historical religious conflict, but that doesn't mean it is one now.

I may be cynical but, "She said the coin had gone through "a rigorous process". "It's decided which anniversaries are suitable for British coinage and once it's passed that process, we then go to the Chancellor and only then does it finally go up to the King for his approval."

Do you reckon he went, "That one, I don't need to see the rest."

Honestly, while a commemorative coin is nice and all, how about just being treated fairly by this government.

The entire thing has been a **** show, and the gov really need to get on top of it.

All the way back to the Brown government deciding to destroy the cards, it has been a showcase in government quagmire and sluggishness

And so they are about to vote on the report. Rishi following his predecessor by being a coward and not turning up to vote.

Edit: 354 for and only 7 against. Pretty overwhelming really. The rest abstained or didn't even bother to turn up - looking at you Rishi.

According to an interview on Fox News Trump was now "too busy" to file away the classified documents he took. Yeh too busy playing golf and showing nuclear secrets and potential battle plans to anyone who cared to see them. God I hope he goes down for this and also in Georgia.

How did your MP vote last night?

Already written to mine who didn't even bother to turn up like Rishi and others in the cabinet.

Didn't vote, which is unsurprising considering he was handed a knighthood in Bojos Bogus Honours List

I think it clearly shows those who didn't even show up have no conscience, hold Parliament in contempt and were just "kowtowing" to the Tory party membership who still support Bojo.

Ik, damn Wes Streeting and Mhairi Black kowtowing to the minority of the Tory membership who still support Bojo

IF he does end up in an American prison, he'll be going down a lot.

(I've always been uncomfortable about making prison-rape jokes, because it's still a rape joke; but I'll make an exception for Trump)

Pleasantly pleased that he actually voted in favour.

He's been very upset about all the parties and lockdown breaches, but has always stopped well short of anything that could be considered a criticism of his hero, Boris.

Not political, but a really good breakdown of the private submarine ***anic story

I mean if this guy is correct, the lack of regulation is mental

Just a very sad and painful way to go if they don't find them in the next 40 hours.

I've been working for 10 mins and already had 2 colleagues ask for my thoughts on the latest Alien stuff doing the rounds. It's quite easy really, if you believe that I have some magic beans to sell you.

Inflation at 8.7%. Strip out energy and food costs and it's still far too high. Food inflation reportedly 16%.

Interest rates going up: bad news for those with big borrowings on variable rate; good news for savers.

Nice one Rishi - I see you're living up to your pledge.
