Just wait until you hear about all the other countries in the world with a royal family as the figurehead of the military and have royal in the names of some branches of their military, gonna have a ******* heart attack

The government's next fleet of armoured ministerial cars will be made in Germany because supply chain issues hampered by Brexit mean no British manufacturer is able to meet its requirements, The Independent has learned.

But it has now been revealed that the decision was made because there no British car maker is "able to meet the requirements of the tender", forcing the Met's hand.

Last year, UK car production hit its lowest level since 1956, because of skills shortages and supply chain issues worsened by Brexit and the pandemic.

I think native people on the receiving end of the British/Christian "genocide" (as described by the pope) might have a view on it. I imagine the police will have had a role in abducting kids from their native families, albeit not in the actual racist abuse and murders that took place in the 'schools'. Apologies, but that's a massive sore point for me, I won't labour the point.

More interestingly I also imagine Quebecois are not over the moon about a police force named after a royalty of which they have never had any affiliation. Similarly English speaking anti-royalists. But that's why it'll typically be called Mounties rather than RCMP. Seems Mounties only enforce federal laws in Quebec, so kind of like an FBI role or NCA (or whatever the UK government is calling them this week). So the day to day Bobbie on the Beat might not even be called a mounty there? I don't know. I'm surprised the RCMP haven't been changed to CMP to be honest.

Not just Quebec the RCMP are federal police in all Candadian provinces. So are separate from the standard police but also not. I dont know enough of their history to comment on the other side of their actual actions throughout history.

Still it's nothing to do with them being 'Royal' literally nothing, it's not like they were under direct orders of the King. We only have to see atrocities across the border in USA to indigenous people. And none of those organisations have Royal in their name.

Which was kinda if my point even if the UK were to become a Republic and other nations I can't see them loosing their calling anything historic Royal or the loos of honorific ***les. Its too ingrained as part of the history of the nation and the names of things.

More importantly people never give a **** when it's other nation other than England (ruled by Scottish bloodline Kings and Queens since 1603).

The Royal has nothing to do with being under command of the monarch, it's a ***le bestowed in recognition of acts of service. Sort of like a regimental medal.
