A Political Thread pt. 2

So if Truss resigns, does that mean Coffey becomes PM?

But Coffey would be the PM until the outcome of that election
Depends - the most recently PM to resign, held on and "oversaw" the hand-over process; by ignoring everything that happened in the world, and going on holiday.
Compared to that, Caretaker Coffey might even be an improvement

Do we think that Kwasi is just severely constipated?

He couldn't budge it.

excuse the ignorance, what of anything happened in Oct/Nov 2021 to start the shift?

Apparently needs around 2/3rds of Tory MPs to write no confidence letters to 1922 committee to get her out.

I think that was the start of the partygate scandals wasn't it?
Partygate was end of November I think it was the Owen Paterson affair. Yeah October/November where they tried to get him off breaking the rules. Partygate happened slightly afterwards and it's been a death spiral since.

From what that chart shows, October/November is normal enough fluctuations - but you can't really tell as it doesn't show September/October (it starts mid october because it's a 12 month count-back from nowish). But yes, the Owen Patterson thing happened there; the swing on that graph is mid-late November, and all the parties - especially the one that coincided with Prince Phil's funeral - that one REALLY hit home with the electorate, and more so with the tory voting portion of the public.

You could argue that the swing started in June 21 - simply the end of BJ's Covid bump and the realisation that Brexit isn't all sunlit uplands after all.

55% of Tory members want Truss to resign
57.4% of them just voted for them just under 2 months ago
40% of her voters want her to go

Christ ******* idiots shouldn't be allowed near a ballot box and really need to think about their decisions.

This from a guy who thought voting for Tim Farron and Jo Swinson were sensible decisions. (I still maintain Swinson's biggest issue was the lack of time to bed in).

Letting her stay on is setting a very dangerous precedent. It beggars belief that someone can be elected on a series of pledges that were reversed weeks into their premiership. She has no authority or credibility. Tory MPs need to do their job for once and get rid.

12 year of Tories

Lets listen to what 13 years of what "Red Tories" got us.

She's a puppet - how do you expect her to look?
The only difference between today and this time last week, is that Hunt has wrested control from Rees-Mogg
