Jesus, just googled it - as you said, I really hope it's not true (for those who haven't seen - the rumours are Biden wants Cheney as foreign policy consultant).
It feels....too far fetched. Cheney is literally the least popular US politician of all time (approval of 13% when he left office), and he shot his mate in the face when hunting ffs.

Considering it's been hours since victory was announced it feels like it's a troll rumour that's been fed out to take the shine off.
Hopefully, anyway.

I'm always surprised how recently the civil rights movement was.
When Kamala Harris was born, people of colour weren't allowed to vote

Democrats in the 21st century:
3 elections with a POC on the ballot - 3 wins.
3 without a POC on the ballot - 3 losses.

Conventional wisdom "you can't win with a woman / minority on the ballot".

She's well thought of by most of us here in California. Our crime rate has gone down because Harris didn't back down. And that's one of the reason's why Biden chose her.

Cheney's had several heart procedures since he last worked in the White House. He's not going back to Washington, DC for anyone. That and he's a war monger scum bag opportuni$t. So Biden would never put him in his cabinet, friends or not. Biden knows that Cheney's reputation is not very good with most of us Americans, especially those who just voted for him.

The buttons pressed were patriotism and racism, dangerous tools that got the job done. Trump has pushed the same buttons. Two very divided Countries with very high numbers of politically clueless people, who can be easily influenced.

That's like saying because nationalists and racists can be easily influenced to blame foreigners for all their problems that they should be just as easily influenced to believe they are good for the country. It doesn't work like that. It's a case of tapping in to an existing prejudice.

Exactly, I always find it strange how the most extreme Nationalists haven't got a pot to **** in, probably because they spend all their money on tattoos. Nationalism offers their last chance of dignity of belonging, God saves the Queen! it's not her fault my kids are hungry. They believe the British Empire was a benevolent project. Conflicting forecasts of economic outcomes cancelled themselves out, while Johnsons played the racist card and told people who to blame for their predicament as **** on his shoe.

It's not the backwards policies of the government or the crummy council estates or the fact they made no effort at school and never amounted to anything that is the reason for them being poor. Nah it's Johnny fakkin foreigner coming over here and taking the job Wayne the brick layer was rightfully entitled to, taking HIS money and also scrounging on HIS benefits.
