[2024 Six Nations] England vs Wales - 10/02/24

There's a world of difference between positive and negative. Personally, I think I'm in the middle ground. I don't have a lot of patience for crap performances and I remain highly sceptical about whether Borthwick is the man to deliver what's needed.

However, I do find it tedious that you and other posters solely focus on the negative and can't seem to see any positives.

FTR, my only real positives from today are a win and CCS off the bench.
Ben Earl has been consistently good, despite only being selected, out of position, by accident.

It's nice to see some positively problem is there are so many issues it's quite hard to cherry pick positives.

"Players came on and really added..." Sniff Bostik.

No-one replacing anyone with a double-digit number made much difference.

I have. I said defence was an improvement in general, though it did slip for about 15-20 minutes.
Kicking again was better, though I think partly because of Steward and also Ford getting a bit lucky.
Maul defence was good.

That's about it.

The defence was better. Late 2nd half we knocked them back well over the l
half way line.

My biggest gripe is being consistent. Attack good, defense is poor and vice versa. Borthwick stated when he took over England were not good at anything. I don't think that's changed but I'll take the win in a dog fight.

Definitely agree that we're not doing anything well. Some areas are improving slowly, but I doubt we're high up on the good play stats.

Positives - defence was better but Wales were worse than Italy ball in hand.
Steward back to his best

Negatives - dismantled attack who look like a bunch of strangers.
Strange changes. Underhill was strong and got removed over an invisible Roots. Mitchell was looking good and didn't look tired. Mind Care did his job but it felt like a change for a change sake.
Daly isn't a wing when we have so many good wings out there

Mixed. Ford poor ball in hand… too stationary when receiving the ball, but kicking was damn good

Going forward. Hope Lawrence is fit for Scotland.

That was a bad win if I've ever seen one and I don't usually believe in those.

Wales not covering the front of the line out in the last play of the game summed them up, not at the races.

England looked worse than last week in my opinion, very little control on that game despite minimal pressure outside of the breakdown.

Treat it for what it was nothing more, nothing less. A win is a win, especially over Wales who are at the start of their cycle towards the next RWC. Still, i won't be surprised if next 3 are losses, and big ones v Ireland and France to put it in perspective where England really are.

There were the odd positives in there but overall we seem to be going backwards. SB being a smart guy will see the issues, but not sure he's got the experience to know how to fix them.

That's our last win for a while now though. Almost makes me not want to watch the games as it's too painful to watch England at the moment.

Tbh we might get away with only a small loss against France with the way they are playing. (See another positive @BPM)

At half time your all seeing eye also foretold us that Englands pack was enhausted.
You didnt read properly did you...

I suggested England were gassed after the 15 min period of 1/2 yellows, but I expect them to come out stronger after the break lol

Go and re read...

D - must try harder hahahaha
