[2022 Six Nations] France vs England (19/03/22)

Issue is how much does experience counteract less ability/form or tactics/selections?

Dupont has 39 caps to Youngs' 115. Does 79 caps worth of experience outweigh the fact that Dupont is the better player? No for me. For me the experience situation is worse because we have loads of caps thrown around with no clear plan or idea of what the team should be. France with less caps have a settled side that is on an upwards progression. We just have chaos.
1000% this.

Individual experience should make some difference though. All our 50+ cap players ought to be instinctively making good decisions and executing well. Even if the team isn't going brilliantly we ought to be able to rely on them to lead and do the right things under pressure.

Dupont is simply an excellent player. But taking that out of the equation he's also exactly what we should look for - by the time the RWC comes around he'll have 55 caps worth of experience and be turning 27 so at the peak of his physical powers too.

Yeah and that's my answer. No England can't do it. Wales are the masters of it and they failed.
What can't drag them down to their level?

This is a new game and it was at the Principality. England can learn from their mistakes. All the pressure is on France.

I do wonder if this will play more into Smiths hands havig Furbank at 15, a more attacking minded FB like having Green at Quins. Whilst i still think it should be Malins this type of strategy could be good for our attack.

I always thought that was why we were choosing Malins on the wing To get him experience but eventually he would be our 22/23 to come on at 15 and change our attacking shape while covering the entire backline...bar 9.

Clutching at straws to find positives ofcourse but still.

At least we've stuck with Smith Slade Marchant again to build up some consistancy.

No !
England got no chance and if you don't get a loosing bonus point your finishing 5th for the second year on the bounce lucky Italy are sill init
Someone's still salty that the most clueless England side in a decade beat Wales

All the pressure is on France.

Yes and no. Obviously everyone expects Fra to win and there's a GS and first ***le in ages at stake.

But there's also massive pressure on Jones which will feed through to the players. Another limp performance and 2 from 5 return and his job has to be right on the line. He's thrown a bit of a Hail Mary in Steward - might be an act of genius, but feels like desperation from someone who has run out of steam.

This current France team isn't the 'which one will turn up' meme.
They never really got going against Wales, but managed to grind out the win with a professional performance.

We'll see … maybe you should look a little closer to home before firing shots.

As I see it, England are at a bad point but still have the players to turn it around before the World Cup. Whether they can do that with Eddie is harder to say.

Wales don't have the players - you're still playing AWJ as soon as he's fit FFS - and you don't have the coach. Pivac is a massive bluffer who has relied on luck for almost every one of your wins. I don't see Wales getting better … I'd pipe down if I were you lad.

Oh yes .. forza Italia for tomorrow ;)

If England have the players I'm sure wales will try to poach them. I love the angry bitter welsh, if only their players had that passion when playing anyone other than England.

That's the scary bit. We know they can look sensational with the sun on their backs but being able to dog out an away win with good discipline on an off day is a huge tick in their development.
