[2021 Six Nations] Scotland vs Italy (20/03/2021)

I expect 5 players to get called up to the lions from Scotland;
Hogg
Van Der Merwe
Watson
Russell
Gray

The boiler house and the back row is very very competitive between the 4 nations. I'm not 100% sure Gray will make it. Had a decent game against England.

Hogg and Watson are likely to go I'd say. I think Russell will go because of the lack of a form 10, but he doesn't suite Gatland's game at all.

I would have Jonny Gray in the lock positions along with Itoje, Ryan and AWJ (no point denying he's going). Henderson or Beirne to go as they players that can cover lock and back row.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Sutherland in the lions squad either.

Yeah, but he had 12 years and the 70s was only 10 years long. :p
Well either way, AWJ has the chance to be the first Welshman ever to win four Grand Slams later today. In addition, JD2 and George North could join the three Grand Slams club of Gerald Davies, Gareth Edwards, JPR, Ryan Jones, Adam Jones and Gethin Jenkins.

Can't see Gray going - similar player to Launchbury who missed out last time. Not exceptional in the lineout or as a scrummaging lock, and not as dynamic in the loose as someone like Henderson.

Ryan and AWJ was my guess for test starters at the moment. Imagined Itoje and Henderson would go beyond that. Guess you're not a fan of AWJ then? I think they'll take more back row then, although the stander announcement make create a space.

I think there's a couple Scottish players who are going to need to play well against France on Friday and need to finish well today.

I think he's personally past it to be a starter. I would have him in the squad for experience with Ryan and Itoje being my test starters.

And that's my lot. Got family stuff to do so will miss the rest of Super Saturday. :( Hope the other games are a bit more competitive than this one.

Have fun fellas.

Could Georgia be given a look-in after all? At least they can scrum well. (Even the All Blacks struggled against it in the penultimate World Cup).

Family stuff in a lockdown. You need a lock on the door and noise cancelling headphones
