[2021 Six Nations] Ireland vs France (14/02/21)

Craig Casey to win us game. Some craic if we qin. Will cause alot to loose marbles

Look everyone but one person is whinihg at Eddie Jones right now but you've got to be mental wanting Lancaster.
He'd come in and do incredibly well. He's had 5 seasons at Leinster, reached the European Knockout rounds every time and only lost away to Clermont, and to Saracens, he's won 3/4 Pro 14's including a perfect season and successfully develpoed guys like Keenan, Conners, Doris, Baird and more into international standard players. Its not like he was coming into a great set up either, Leinster went 1/6 in Europe the season before he arrived and lost to Connacht badly in the Pro 14 final and failed to qualify for the Pro 14 playoffs the season before that. He's been as good with Leinster as Joe Schmidt was, 2015 a distant memory for him.

He also has appeared utterly uninterested in taking another coaching role despite being approached multiple times. In particular he appears to have little interest in coaching internationally again.

Not signed up for Ster yet, maybe sees the writing on the wall for his old colleague and wants to be in a good negotiating position to take over.

If he doesn't want it fair enough but the IRFU should be handing him a blank cheque if Farrell's trajectory continues.

He's the best performing coach in Ireland in any role right now, in a big way so wanting him isn't completely insane. He doesn't seem interested though and there is the obvious concern that he's in a role perfectly suited to his strengths now and there'd be the worry that moving him into a role he wasn't very good at in the past wouldn't work out.

I do think Lancaster is more suited to the club game. Seems a really good man manager and develops players very well by seeing them on a daily basis and giving them opportunities when he can. Not a huge amount of scope for that in the international gig, it's results based to the extreme and I think he knows it himself.

Isn't he eyeing up a return to UK

Obviously injuries have played a part but still not delighted with how that team turned out.

On the other hand, Craig Casey hype.

Clearly Ross isn't rated to start which raises the question of why he's in the squad to begin with.

If Lancaster was to do well at any international side I think it'd be Ireland (and to a lesser extent Wales)
He needs more control over/access to the players than a setup like England provides

2013 v Italy looks worse to be fair. Genuinely think it's a contender outside that year, the Gatland and O'Sullivan teams at the start of the millennium had more class.
We also started Tommy O'Donnell and Nathan White in a Six Nations game in 2016 and pulled off that draw baybay
