I wonder if Harry will be sent home next week again though a la Coombes. Sexton surely only days away from recovery. Cooney surely in the frame for a match day squad though.

He should be there anyways. Send Ross home. Facta are Ross obviously isn't rated there so use Harry

'Ross?' he again ventures to no visible reaction. Carefully he reaches out to turn the figure towards him. He comes face to face with Harry Byrne. The world drops out from under him. He mutters 'sacre bleue' before running towards the dressing room screaming 'it's a trap!!!'

For Ireland to win this game they need to demolish the French up front. If the French even gain parity they will win. As for me they have the best backline in world rugby atm
I actually don't think the French pack man for man is much better than the Irish pack. Their scrum can be got at and their breakdown.
I will interested to see how the French do.when they come up against a pack that plays up their potential. As I have only seen it once, in their loss to Scotland. On a personal note, I don't actually think there pack is all that strong as yet. However, due how good their half backs are, they only need parity to rip teams apart.

France for sure, better halfbacks and a regular place kicker on the pitch. Not the sort of weather for our midfield to do damage and that's the only area where I think we're definitely better.

With them making the decision to start Burns, and after what happened last week, I'd have thought starting Cooney with him would have made sense. Like you say, taking the pressure off and having someone he knows well at 9. Or at least have him on the bench.
