[2016 Rugby Championship] New Zealand v South Africa (17/09/2016)

Even though we are experiencing bad form i guess it would be unreasonable to be mad if we lose to the ABs away regardless of our form. At home if we lose then **** will have to go down and the coach should feel the heat.
All i am expecting from the Boks is that they give a good 80 min performance. They should not make errors like knocking the ball on this is not schoolboy rugby the players should be able to catch a ball under pressure.
Our goal kicking has to be atleast 80%. I know we are going to kick the ball to the AB back three then they will run it into our half we will at some point regain possession and re kick it back to the AB back three just to get out of our half. The cycle will repeat until the ABs score.
If this mentioned strategy is clearly not working i really wish the decision makers wil say to themselves listen this is not working lets try and run the ball a bit more. Because if you are already conceding tries by kicking the ball away then surely you can afford to concede tries by being too risky with the ball in your own half.

I think AB supporters are going through the same motions they had ahead of France in RWC2015. Uncertain but confident, but it ended being a complete blowout.
I think this will be the same.

You may end up being right but i've seen too many false dawns from the AB's over the years and i can't see the Bokke wilting like the French did and utterly capitulating.
It's not in their make up

I'm not convinced, I'm sure ABs B will be competetive, have the potential to win possibly even favourites. But slam dunk they'll beat anyone? Nope

But then reading the quote he does say good enough to beat anyone. Mind you I think you could probably build an England B team who have potential the to beat anyone. Right coach and stars aligning would have to occur.

So unless he is bring boombastic I don't think he's saying much. All the top 4 side could make a pretty good B side. If he does think they'd win every game I think that's a little overconfident even for the A side.

God I wish we were playing NZ this year so we'd have some kind of marker of the difference between the two teams.

Justin Marshall couldn't shut up when he played the game (still he was that slow at clearing the ball there was time for a conversation) why would he start now.

I think I New Zealand B team would do well against ranking 4 and down teams but I suspect would have an average win/loss ratio against the top 3 but I think you could say the same thing about South Africa, England and Australia B.

I think AB supporters are going through the same motions they had ahead of France in RWC2015. Uncertain but confident, but it ended being a complete blowout.
I think this will be the same.

As a kiwi you would have to be confident given the teams home record and South Africa's recent record but nothing is written in stone, if the AB's play badly they will lose and as time goes by the odds of them having that bad game grow shorter.

All evidence is pointing to a 50+ point blowout to the ABs. This is very likely. It happened before (under Rudolph Strauli) and that was on homesoil so it's not history to be made in any case.

The cynic in me can't even conjure up a few positives going for the Boks as they failed on 5 successive occasions after the 1st game to come out with a kind of response that would at least give us supporters and themselves some kind of indication of a direction or confidence in what they are doing. And now they are coming up against the most decorated side in World Rugby. Dare I say it couldn't get any worse?

To sum up this clash: this ABs team seems to have gone stronger since last year as opposed to this current Boks team going in the total opposite direction, so, you can only anticipate those margins in form to transpire on the field of play and (eventually) on the scoreboard.

Which is why I said in previous posts: Park the bus, focus all resources and energy on drilled defensive patterns. Avoid high risk playing (in own half). This is intended for the ABs

I am surprised to see so many people predicting a huge margin win for NZ. Personally I think it will be about a 10-15 point margin win for the All Blacks. South Africa aren't that bad and have a history against NZ, they'll be able to raise their game for this.

interesting to see Alberts in do SA not have many other talented backrowers in SA ATM?
It was a bit of a weird decision, but the next in line SA player (Notshe) is injured and there is no others that have been in the structures from what I'm aware.

Boks fans are a pessimistic bunch aren't they :D

We call it as we see it, if we think we will win we say it, but if we believe we will win we will say it too. We aren't ones for talking up our team to see them lose. And in this situation there is just too much weighed against us for us to be positive about the chance of winning.

Yeah don't get me wrong I don't think SA will win I just don't think they'll get as badly trounced as most seem to think in here.

almost kick off. In a way this encounter might be fascinating. But then again. A cricket score beckons

Already it's not looking good.

Justin Marshall couldn't shut up when he played the game (still he was that slow at clearing the ball there was time for a conversation) why would he start now..

Hah hah hah
Yes Idiot Marshall was slower than a wet week at clearing the ball and only any good at sending a pass right to left
He's a boor and appeals only to the lowest common denominator.
Most unfortunate.

Wow, South Africa score the first try LOL! That's surprising... Nice try.

The All Blacks aren't South Africa's greatest enemy. South Africa are their own greatest enemy.
