[2016 RBS Six Nations] Round 1: Scotland vs. England (06/02/2016)

Billy Vunipola, Farrell and Brown apparently named as vice captains by Jones.
I can understand Farrell and Brown, but Binny always seems like the kinda guy who only plays rugby because he likes smashing into people and not really have much of a brain on him.

You need to read some of the interviews with Billy then. He appears eloquent and quick minded in those responses. PS, you gotta love the 'have a break, have a kit kit' comment too!

It's incredible isn't it even though the article stated "he joked" after the quote.

It's like Andy Murray's 'anyone but England' joke at Tim Henman all over again. Just giving the haters an excuse to hate.

Or Will Caring saying I hate you too

Fair enough, I watched the recent 02 Inside line video and he just seemed dopey, probably because he's being interviewed by Vernon Kay!

Mel Gibson stars as Sean Maitland an Australian playing a New Zealander pretending to be Scottish playing against the arrogant nation that is England, in the Summer hit about a plucky rugby team determined to beat the odds and not finish in the bottom 2 of the 6N's.

From the Actor who brought you The Patriot and Braveheart comes a new film about hating the English

Arrogant England: Time to Pluck the Rose.

Why does everyone seem to think Mel Gibson is Australian? Is it because he's racist?

Does it matter? He's from an English-speaking country which isn't England. You guys are all in it together anyway.

Scotland team: Hogg, Maitland, Bennett, Scott, Seymour, Russell, Laidlaw (C), Hardie, Denton, Barclay, R. Gray, J. Gray, Nel, Ford and Dickinson: Replacements: McInally, Reid, Fagerson, Swinson, Cowan, Hidalgo-Clyne, Weir and Taylor.

Where are the professional rugby players? Those guys are all amateur surely?

Only joking!!!

Any armchair coaches care to throw their toys out of the pram because the selection didn't match their own preferences or expectations? No - didn't think so. Line-up looks pretty solid with the only question mark being over Barclay or Cowan. Have faith in the management who are best placed to pick the team having watched the squad train, observed the various combinations and spent time with the players.

You can't have a team staring the first 6 nations game away with an inexperienced new 6 and 7 and 12 and 13. That would be mental and we wouldn't really gain much from it.

You have to ease these players in. Itoje has been in the camp for only a short time, let him get all the moves down and then bring him in without any pressure.
Kvesic as ignored on here gives up too much ground in the tackle. That's what Mr Jones has said. Lancaster must have had the same problem with him because for two international coaches to ignore him probably means there's a fault someone in his game he's not improved on. Personally I think Fraser is the better 7, but defiantly think Clifford will do really well at 7 in the short term before moving to 8.

I hope the starting team includes either Clifford or Devoto but you have to understand if it doesn't. These are young players going away to Scotland. Not an easy way into international rugby.

Lancaster went in with a brand new 7, 12 and 13 and won that game. Wood was hardly Mr Experience back then either. Ireland just won a 6N with a brand new centre partnership.

The desirability of experience is obvious but it is possible to stick out plenty of new players and win.

He an American born Australian Actor.

No he's not. He was, is and always will be an American citizen. His parents took him to Australia when he was young. One of them was American, the other Irish.

Yes. Just think how much more embarrassing it will be to lose to amateurs.

For me Barclay any day. Think Barclay adds more leadership into the team then Cowan which experience is key, especially in this game.

Really like the squad we have though it can definitely do alot off damage if we keep to the game plan.

Scotland are favourites! At home, off the back of some World Cup victories. Can't wait to see the game, hopefully England can match this powerful Scottish outfit.

The bookies have England as favourites.....but this will be a very tough game.
Win this one and it will set us up for a good tournament.

*Best Tigs post ever*
Being Mel Gibson I'm surprised you didn't pitch in something anti-semitic...
