I know everyone's definitions are different on the score, but I have to say this conversation leaves me with the need to retreat to a stiff glass of whisky while muttering about insanity. The usage of statistics has been positively Disraelian and as for the idea that O'Mahony is World Class, well, I've never heard such rubbish. Based on the evidence of my eyes and stats. He wouldn't get into the All Blacks, not unless he converted to openside, he simply doesn't fit their mould as a blindside. Bluntly I don't know why he doesn't convert into an openside, which is closer to his actual role for Ireland, other than the presence of two very talented people who play at openside already in the Ireland squad.

Mindyou, one has to say Robshaw's claims should be dismissed equally briskly. Suppose you could make a case they both are if you like applying the term very loosely.

There is one world class flanker in either squad and he comes from Tullow and sells his mammie's bread. That should be crystal clear, but bias is very strange. Quite how he ended up regarded as the specialist openside while O'Mahony came to be regarded as the specialist blindside is a mystery for our times really.

p.s. Speaking of bias, Ulster really need a 6 more than a lock; Ireland really need a lock more than a 6; Ulster fans reckon he's better at 6 and the rest of yiz mostly think he's a lock. Funny that. The reality is he's nigh perfectly physically suited for either and is capable of outstanding performances at either, and brings a dimension to the Irish side that very few others can while doing so. The sole matter is translating his impact role at international level to a consistent 80 minute role. And that is mostly merely a matter of practice.

GN10. You were bull****ting there about POM vs Wales 2014. And 1metre in 9 runs. Well few fact.

He had 1 turnover. No issue.
It was actually 1 m in 6 runs. Heaslip made 6m in 11, Best and Healy made 8m and POC and Toner mad 4m each. That's 31m. Poor for a team that man shamed their pack. Henry despite scoring and Ross made 0m However if you remember or watched that game our pack was dogged and excellent defensively but the damage that day was out wide and centres.
We defended more than Wales that day and they had more possession. So again stats showed that before you try and spoof. We beat Wales with our physicality in defence.
