SA luck is about to run out... long overdue aswell...

these 2 teams have met 3 times in RWC

1st was in 95 Final and boks took that

2nd was in 99 3rd and 4th place play offs and Sa won that too...

3rd time was in 2003 in the 1/4 final and the AB won that one

Can't go on past history. And the Boks and All Blacks have never met at Twickenham. As Naas says "A whole different ballgame"

@Icemn; "SA luck is about to run out.."

What SA luck? We have been decidely unlucky for quite some time now (no doubt partly our own doing). If anything the odd bounce of the ball or a poor call in our favor in a critical match are due us if not for the gambler's fallacy.

Twickenham 29ft above sea level = Easy All Blacks win.

Well there we have it.

Yeah, I accidentally deleted that thread, I wanted to merge that thread with this one, because it seemed like some members don't know how to read forum guidelines especially in the World Cup section, and while I was editing, and adding images to the match thread, I accidentally ticked the wrong box.

Haha, bugger, oh well. I hadnt read any of it so no idea if there was anything interesting in there....

Short and sweet from me at this stage. I'm nervous about this game, but picking ABs by 10.

We really need to see the injury situation. NMS would be a big loss for us. Crockett wouldnt be that big a deal I dont think.

And for u guys, u appear to have some pretty serious concerns.

I didn't think NMS was that bad according to the commentary reports during the match - well, not 'bad enough' to miss next week anyway. Unless something has changed. But it would suck to lose him big time. Agreed on Crockett. I would like to see him there and performing well, which he is obviously capable of doing, but if Moody plays like that every week then we'll hardly notice his absence.

It is definately worse than the commentators first thought cause otherwise he would have been cleared by now. The fact that they need another day for both of them says to me that there is a chance both could be gone. Time will tell, but I'm a bit worried. I havent heard anything from inside the camp yet though...

We got Naholo, no need to sweat.
As much as I loved him in SUper Rugby, his fitness/injury situation seems like a liability to me. He hasnt made it past 50min in each of the games he started. Therefore he laso hasnt had much game time at all. I'd be concerned if we need him to suit up!

*****es please.

We have Lood "Because #### You" de Jager.

SA by 30

Lol! He might not play, and to be honest, he played rather poor against Wales. knocked on nearly every time he went into contact.

A friend I was with said that both S.A. locks were playing really poorly. I'm a big fan of Lood and Eben so brushed it off but the more I watched the more I realised the pair of them were spilling the ball, being tackled behind the gain line and not making significant contributions in rucks relative to their size. Surprising as I thought they were the powerhouse of the Bokke team?

Well, I think most of our youngsters were sub-par against Wales, which was understandable as most of them have never faced this type of pressure before in a match. But I think just like the Japan game, we will come out stronger after this Wales match.

It's all part of our strategy! They just knock on now and play really ****e. I bet Ritchie is going: "Hey, I don't have to worry about that baby faced ****! He keeps knocking!"

Then when it's game time Lood goes beast mode and runs all over them to score four tries and take the conversions. Australia immediately surrenders and we win the world cup by default.

All hail Lood.

Seems SA's injury concerns are Lood de Jager, Bismarck du Plessis and Willie le Roux. Waiting for reports. I suppose the likely back-ups (Matfield if fit otherwise PSdT, Strauss and Lambie) aren't too much of a step down and in the case of Le Roux might even be a better pick everything considered.

I did a quick check. Crazily enough with Wales having been ranked above SA prior to the weekend and the fact RWC games count for double points exchanged we are now in a position where a win will see us go to ahead of NZ (90.02 vs 89.67) even if I wouldn't agree. An unlikely win by 15 or more for SA would see it reading 91.63 vs 88.06. the good news for NZ is that they are finally in a position to gain points themselves for the frst time in the tournament. They could go to 93.67 for a win below 15 and as high as 94.06 (highest ever?) with a 15+ win margin. If NZ win they remain top. If SA win we'd pass NZ but only go top if Aussie lose to Argentina. NZ could concievably go to no.3 in the world rankings if SA and Aus win.

Well, my team France is out, so i will be backing the Boks to go all the way.

Wouldn't you prefer to be able to say that it took the eventual World Champions to knock your team out of the competition?

I love New Zealand fans. All tournament I've heard on this forum that we are playing terribly and we'll be lucky to make it out of the GF. Now South Africa won't come within 30 points :D.

I will say this - that French game was the best I have seen the All Blacks play - potentially ever. What was amazing about it was the accuracy - not just of the passing (which was fantastic), or picking the right options (which was sublime), but the work at the breakdown. The French were blown away at the breakdown by some simply phenomenal accuracy there. Body positions were perfect, numbers were perfect. Whether the All Blacks can back that up is another story.

South Africa are a great team - no way anyone should look past them. Man for man there isn't necessary anyone I would personally take over our starting XV (Sam Whitelock for Etzebeth/De Juger may be a close one) - but if their midfield fires it could be a very tricky game. As good as we have played, we have also leaked some tries in this RWC - and I'm expecting a close one.

Whatever happens it will likely be exciting - as the main difference between this team and 2011, Hansen has definitely put the emphasis on attack.
