[2014 TRC] New Zealand v Argentina in Napier (06/09/2014)

Dull match. Argentina are a waste of space in TRC. Just BPs for other teams.. *yawn*

So far this year, we're the only team to get a bonus point off them.

On a note of real rugby discussion (i.e. not trolling) I thought the score didn't do the Pumas justice; they played a lot better than the score indicated.

Also they weren't helped by the referee, Pascal Gauziere, who frankly, just doesn't seem up to the job at this level. He made a number of very poor and obviously incorrect decisions including one absolute clanger when he ruled a charge down by a Pumas player as a knock forward, costing Argentina a try at a vital stage of the game.

Surely everyone is entitled to their opinion without meaning that they are trolling!

Argentina robbed of a try. What was the ref thinking?

It could have made the game interesting

This game is about taking your chances and scoring tries. The AB's specialise in this. That being side I thought the all blacks put in an overall poor performance.

Firm believer in creating your own luck with an attacking mindset which is how I felt the Abs played

Argentina had that try, Nonu will his silly errors. Still a great top bloke Nonu.

They said that last year and the year before that as well..

So Arg have played 15 matches in TRC... Winless from all of them. Useless.

i don't think there is any team in world rugby outside of the other TRC teams that would be in any different position to Argentina.

Rubbish.

Not for Australia they wont be. Arg is going to knock them over atleast once surely.

Australia is the most underrated team on this forum atleast 2-0 Aus, they will beat the boks in South Africa as well. Argentina are mildly overrated on this forum. Their results speak for themselves they are still some way out of the top 7 teams in the world. I wouldn't but them higher than 9th. Aussie are clearly top 3 in the world but I put them at 2, on this forum if we did a poll they would be about the same level as Argentina which is pure bs. 99% of you would put England above them which is just a joke.

My friend, we are well past the "aperro" hour and methinks you have been partaking too long............you are saying, in fact, that in games both home and away over a five (is it?) period neither France or England would beat one of the AB's, Boks, or Wallabies? Really?

I think it's fair to say Argentina are a long way off the SH teams but they area a good tournament team, the world cup suits them as they start with the pool and hit their stride by the knock out stages, there isn't a single 6 Nations team who won't be scared of them come the world cup.

Lol did you watch the game?

I see you using this comment in a few different threads now, and i have to say, it does make you come across like a self important attention seeking problem child.
By all means disagree with people and put your case but this kind of comment is the sort of thing i'd expect from the schoolyard, don't bring other Kiwi's down with your needlessly high and mighty overtone.

Apparently Tomas Lavanini has been cited for going head first into McCaw.

Didn't they review that with the TMO during the game. It was a penalty but it didn't look much worse than that.

lol you can think whatever you like tbh, it is not a needlessly high and mighty overtone and is certainly not meant to come across that way.

But when someone makes a sweeping statement that everyone in the thread can't believe than I feel i can say it, below is the one example I used to put my case forward, I could have mentioned 2-3 instances of dirty play by Argentina that would have shown the same thing.

When someone makes a call like that based one emotion and not fact than i can reply how I like.

Lol did you watch the game?

What about Savea tackled without the ball in the 1st couple minutes?

It's not just this thread, it's most of the threads you comment in.
You're not the only kiwi on here, and there are plenty of people on here who have played plenty of rugby, by all means you can reply how you like (and I'm not saying you are wrong either) but as there are a large number of Kiwi posters on here who can keep a civil conversation it's not very helpful when one of us is coming across in a discourteous manner.
It's all in how you say it.

just finished watching this. Just a few things:
- Marcos Ayerza is the best scrummaging LH in the world, and it's not even close. Maybe best scrummager at all. The dude doesn't just win his matchup in the scrum or avoids penalties, he traverses the opposite scrum. Jannie du Plessis, busted. Owen Franks, busted. Kepu, you fat fk, I'd advise you to start looking for an amazingly, but I mean amazingly good psychotherapist, or to get some damn good life insurance.
- Overall, Argentina have the best scrum in the world atm with France out of the way. Think, they don't even have Juan Figallo on the Tighthead side...
- Love Creevy: the rugged, brutal hooker of old.
- Argentina looked just as good as we expected, but the AB are that good. Nothing left to the imagination, everything panned out nice and clean (despite the early pis$). They're so old school: huge scrum, gritty, a bit dirty, and know how to throw the oval around and aren't afraid to. Just love em these days.

All-Blacks:
- Retallick the best lock in the world ? I think so. At very least; but this is certain for me and non-negotiable; he gets one of two spots in the World XV. He's like this geeky kid, a Rugby nerd, loves to do everything and is a serious pro. Such a clean, polished game for a second rower.
- Beauden Barrett's pretty good. But he either fell prey to a horrible prank by the AB staff and teammates who never warned him about penalty kicking, or he lost a bet before the game. Hopefully he now knows what those posts on the field are for, but more importantly, I don't care that this is "just one game"; AB can't have him take the kicks regularly. Oh, and he totally pushes Leguizamon back on his assist to Savea for his 2nd try, but then again the reffing was ridiculously pro-NZ.
- Ben Smith was kind of invisible. Dagg was pretty damn good at FB, but I really think B.Smith on the wing is a waste. Piutau or Jane there probably, no ?
- Savea's shoulder charge: isn't that a yellow, minimum ? Saw Montypellier Castres last night and Beatie sees red for the same offense, and no it wasn't more intense than Savea's. Just a penalty ?? fkng ridiculous.

P.S.: Will be wearing Argentina's flag as support during this tournament.
