2013 Junior World Championship

The best Match of the second round RSA vs ENG. The new generation of South Africa is incredible, I think that they going to win the cup other year. I'm crazy with the interception of Seabelo Senatla in the first try. He made a great match, and he had ¡Seven tries in the tournament!
England did play well but was a dificult match. The great problem Was the first part, England made a lot of penals, they weren't concentrated, and RSA used well his chance

The young South Africans have a good mix of raw power and blistering speed. Couple that with opportunism and good execution and the blueprint is there for great near future for SA rugby

Jacques Du Plessis has to be the pick of the forwards! a flanker at over 2m tall 115kg's, and good pace and strength. I wonder which big Rugby Union will sign him? as he's currently with the Pumas.

That Du Plessis are not playing of lock is a sign of the power of RSA pack. But It's not a surprise, the SA pack is ever very stong. in other hand I don't understand the actitud to Pollard. He fail In one match and Robert du Preez Kick ever penals, I think is unfair, Pollard are better Than du Preez

Pollard we all thought is a 10, but he has been used mostly this season as a 12 (not only in this competition), not sure why as the Bulls have Jan Serfontein at 12 and are in need of a new 10 to replace Morne Steyn in the future, South Africa can also do with more depth at flyhalf

I'm dead sure he is at the Bulls to play 10. He is still very young and it's a good learning experience for him to play 12; just look at guys like Carter, Wilkinson and Larkham who all played 12 prior to moving to 10.

Yep!

he only played 12 during the Varsity Cup and now during the JWC. He can play both, and I don't see it as a problem, but rather as a blessing. there's less strain on him for not kicking, so he can focus on his running/passing/support play. That's what makes DC such a great FH, that he can distribute very well, and run with the ball.

Robert (our current 10 at the JWC) is a decent flay half, and his dad was a springbok in his day, is playing very well at 10. Why change if it works??

I suppose I could hide between missing at least 5 top quality players, but the simple truth is we just don't look very well organised and our execution is very poor. Sounds like a very good SA side, fair play and good luck to them - although not too much as hopefully we'll meet them again a match or two's time...

At least you have Rory Scholes showing a lot of class and winning plaudits, Joyce playing well and by the sounds of it Shanahan who is very impressive will be going to Ulster.

I understand the point of view of heineken, but I think that Pollard can play to 12 and kicking same time. Pollard has an incredible kicker. Du preez can kick when Pollard is Substituted

Pleased to see du Preez developing well. Just want his younger brothers to kick on now. Lambie needs a fire lit under him, I want the moves of 2010 Pat, and some healthy competition wild do everybody the world of good. Not to mentioned Jean Luc du Plessis, another son of a SA rugby personality, coming through.

I like being grumpy and snarling about how my teams are underperforming though. Tbh, Ulster have been a MASSIVE surprise on what I thought I'd signed up for!

And yes, once again the Red Hand contingent looks good - problem is, the guys we needed to be stars are John Donnan and Chris Taylor. And they appear to be at the curve for their age, maybe bit above, but I'd be surprised to see them going for the first team in the next couple of years. Hopefully some of the mutants in this year's Methody pack might fill the gap. Its great that Rory Scholes is doing well, but we need more back three maestros like we need ***s on a coffee table (cue injury crisis next season). Shanahan if we bag him is good news, but then Creighton is meant to be very good... *shrugs* Either way, scrum-half is the one position where our future has a wee bit of worry in the backline. But its forwards we really need.

As for England, to get back onto my original train of thought... well, we still have a chance for redemption. No losing bonus points in the other groups and a TBP gives us the fourth semi-final slot. Unfortunately, that puts us up against South Africa again...
