Tri Nations to become The Rugby Championship in 2012

This got moved from southern hemisphere rugby to international rugby because why? There are some control freak mods running around the forum these days

"General Southern Hemisphere" rugby is in the club and provincial section and is for general chit chat about domestic rugby - this is about an international comp, not club/provincial

Actually it got moved from Tri Nations forum which has since been archived, and placed in the appropriate international rugby.

Who cares about the name?? yeah it's a bit long and doesn't sound alright, but neither does "The Western Force"...

all I care about is the quality on the field... hell they could even have called it Sidhe Rugby Challenge, just as long as the South African players' names are spelled correctly...

I agree.

What is it in the name "Six Nations Championship" that tells the uneducated reader that it is six nations located in the NH, speficially Europe and the British Isles, who compete in it.

At one stage, there was a six nations championship at this end of the planet too, the Pacific Nations Cup - Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, Australia A, New Zealand Juniors and Japan.

After a while, fans will just accept that "The Rugby Championship" is what it is called, just as they have accepted this with the Six Nations

Terrible name, anything else would have been better.
I see the All Blacks games have been released.

The Rugby Championship
vs Australia, August 18, ANZ Stadium, Sydney
vs Australia, August 25, Eden Park, Auckland
vs Argentina, September 8, Westpac Stadium, Wellington
vs South Africa, September 15, Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin
vs Argentina, September 29, TBC, in Argentina
vs South Africa, October 6, TBC, in South Africa

Looks like 2 byes during the competition.

Strong rumours of it being played at La Plata. Fantastic new 52,000 stadium.

I can´t decide to go to that one or the match vs Australia. If only I could go to both! Australia are rumoured to be playing at Avallenada (Greater Buenos Aires) and South Africa at Rosario. All would be great venues for Argentina to host RWC 2023!
