Not a fan of the views, too flat for me, not high enough.

Agreed....oddly they've changed the side of the field they usually have the camera on at this stadium. Commentary is tolerable at least camera hasn't been as twitchy as some Rugby Canada streams.

Jaguars are playing really well making some great breaks, some seriously awesome offloading leading to that try.

**** poor tackling. Dolan has had an awesome game so far. Everyone else, not so much.

Much better in the final twenty from the States they seemed to stabilize in the discipline aspects of their game and defence was bending but not breaking. The Jaguars fullback looks absolutely lethal, fantastic grubber on their second try and he very narrowly missed going over in the dying seconds.

It looked like the Jaguars might romp for the first ten minutes or so they have some classy offloading and line running, on a possibly pedantic note while it's enjoyable to see them run with ball in hand so much I wonder if in a couple of situations a clearance kick would have been a wiser decision.

Scoreline probably a little harsh on the U.S. who were the better team for large stretches of the game, but just failed to get that extra push for a try and a fairly easy penalty missed by Siddal didn't help much either. Jaguars looked great when they ran with purpose but seemed to have a lull in their game at points, I was very impressed by their backline tonight some great running.

Argentina Jaguars 27-9(13-3 HT) U.S.A. Selects ("A")

Jaguars

Tries: Tuculet, Imhoff, Rojas, Barrea
Conversion: Tuculet 2(4)
Penalty: Tuculet 1(1)
Yellow Card: Didn't catch it from the poor commentary("The Argie" dosen't really cut it LOL) an assist would be most welcome in spotting who this was.

U.S.A.

Penalties: Siddal 3(5)

Is the commentator eating a sandwhich? It sounded like his mouth was full a moment ago.

Edit: He's definately eating WTF!!!

Edit Edit: I expected the Uruguayan set piece to be more than competitive but our scrum sucks right now, it's going to be ugly against the Moari up front even with Buydens and Barkwill possibly starting.

Dolesau was probably one of the few bright spots in that half for us. I would best describe our attacking efforts as frenetic. McQueen is out of position at fullback and is having a bit of a shocker, our try was fairly lucky though it was nice to see Fitzpatrick get a score. Scrum was only holding it's own and Tieddemann is already off hurt (still think he was an odd captain choice). I wouldn't mind some subs coming in early now, Barkwill, White, et. al. and try to create that extra something.

Luckily Uruguay dosen't have the technical skills to really take advantage of our sloppiness and the defence to be fair has been solid, but this kind of a half vs. the Jaguars or even the States and we'd certainly be losing.

Edit: 10-3 for Canada at the half.

Very impressive Little Guy! Give me the Lottery numbers please...

Wow that was fairly awful, talk about getting out of dodge luckily some dreadful Los Teros decision making and some pure luck got us out of a near disaster, I am very concerned about us going forward into the rest of the ARC and even more so into the Moari game.

Scoreline

Canada 17-10(10-3 HT) Uruguay

Canada
Tries: Fitzpatrick, Scholz
Conversions: McQueen 2(2)
Penalty: McQueen 1(2)

Uruguay
Try: Bueno
Conversion: Prada 1(1)
Penalty: Prada 1(4)
Drop Goal: Prada 0(1)

Here is the official archive( I have posted the Argentina vs. U.S.A. archive below since posts are limited to one video)

My player ratings....

1 Andrew Tiedemann (capt.) - 4.5/10 Was OK in the loose but poor in the set piece, odd choice for captain went off in first half injured.
2 Micha Govorchin - 5/10 Meh, not horrible for a debut but didn't add much either, Barkwill was an upgrade.
3 Jake Ilnicki - 4.5/10 Tackled well, very similar to Govorchin in impact on the game
4 Hank McQueen - 5/10 Fairly anonymous but was a blow that he got hurt due to our complete lack of Locks, had to come back in with a broken nose we are so short here.
5 Aaron Flagg - 4/10 Should be playing back row and it showed.
6 Callum Morrison - 4/10 I was extremely dissapointed by our rucking tonight, lots of penalties given up and ball lost.
7 Adam Kleeberger - 5/10 Has just come back from injury but not a great night for Kleebs.
8 Zac Coughlan - 4/10 - Workmanlike on defence didn't add anything from attack.
9 Jamie Mackenzie - 3.5/10 - Some bad errors, comical knock on with a quick line out, horrible upfeild kick led to Uruguay's try. Got settled at the end to salvage a bit of a rating. Was commentators MOTM, LMFAO!!
10 Jack Fitzpatrick - 6.5/10 - Decent debut, got a fairly luck try but was still one of our more composed players tonight.
11 Joe Dolesau - 7.5/10 - MOTM(shows how bad we were tonight)? Had a great break that should have led to a score if not for our dreadful rucking, made some good tackles as well.
12 Mike Scholz - 7/10 - Great work in defence but like most of our backline didn't get much ball, when he finally did he scored!!
13 Conor Trainor -6/10 - Again coming back from injury, workmanlike.
14 Duncan Maguire - 4/10 - Didn't hear much of his name all night.
15 Adam McQueen - 1.5/10 - Out of position whcih isn't his fault... but total shocker tonight, his one decently long penalty kick saves him from an even lower rating.

16 Ray Barkwill - 6/10 - Bit of a spark, should have come on earlier.
17 Doug Wooldridge 6.5/10 - Our best forward tonight....not sure if I'll ever say that again.
18 Ryan March - N/A
19 Kyle Gilmour - 5/10 - Average, called into the lineup and short notice and held his own.
20 Matt Heaton - 5/10 - Could have been an N/A was on breifly.
21 Alistair Clark -5/10 - Also could have been an N/A came on late did OK.
22 Sean White - N/A - Should have been used, Mackenzie was playing poorly, maybe there was a reason he didn't come on though I guess Mackenzie finally started playing well by that time
23 Jordan Wilson-Ross -5.5/10 - Effective in his limited minutes.

Tuculet was superb for the Jaguars, I can't believe Phelan didn't gave him a chance in TRC, he would have done better than Hernandez, that's for sure.

The USA 'A' (or Select) just left something to be desired. Beginning and end of each half was just terrible, got dominated. But in the middle part of the halves their line speed was solid, less miss tackles, and they applied pressure to out on tries, they just couldn't get it that last phase over the line, like the Eagles themselves. So I'm having trouble gauging whether 27-9 is harsh on us, or whether it is indicative of the way we played...I'll try and watch the film to get a detailed eval.

*Watch the opening kickoff and already confirmed my initial reaction from last night. Cam Dolan was offsides on kickoff but none of the refs saw it.

What do you think about Teros performance? They could win the playoff and qualify for the next RWC?

Little Guy might be in a better position to say, I didn't see any of that match as I fell asleep, but the result looks promising for them. For the USA, set piece will be huge for them. Too many times the Eagles get set piece in prime position only to get penalized, turn it over, or just flat go nowhere. Scrum consistency will also be a key and I'm sure the Teros will be aiming to target that next spring. My goal (lofty) if I have time here in school is to be able to analyze Uruguay and the US. While I'm sure most people will say the US should walk over Uruguay, with the staff turnover and mysterious 0-7 summer, Uruguay definitely have a shot to beat the USA over 2 legs. Playoff might be early to say since ENC still has a ways to go.

I think they can, especially with Russia's decline. They have a much better set piece than the Bears and their backs have improved a bit as well. But they need to improve on the technical aspects of their game.

A decent size win in front of a large home crowd in Montevideo would be essential and is a bit of an advantage as Russia will likely have to play them in Sochi where they get almost no support. If they get to the next RWC than they are in one hell of a tough pool though.

Edit: usausa had a great point though the ENC isn't done yet so we'll have to see if Russia advance from there or whether they step their game back up.
