Your Lions Squad Following the 6N

That was my big money bet :p

Were you at the game Muff? On an entirely unrelated note you wouldn't remember how Jordan Coughlan got on in the midfield for Leinster? The big centre converted from the back row. We could do with a bit of a bosher in there if Eoin O'Malley's going to be in the 13 shirt.

But Sexton is consistently the best outhalf in the 6N...to suggest otherwise merely highlights your bleak ignorance on the subject.

Hahaha, we're not seriously going to re-start the Sexton debate are we? Because it became incredibly boring. I've realized that Irish posters seem to resent even considering other fly half options because of their Sexton-tinted goggles. So I've given up trying to convince them that people are not in fact evil (or witches) for suggesting other potential options.

Ok, let me give an example of how my attitude is different. I think Halfpenny is a certain at fullback, yet I don't suggest people have "bleak ignorance" for arguing for Hogg's inclusion. Only certain people on this forum would use such ridiculous hyperbole in response to someone's genuine reasonable opinion.

You're a horrible wum but it's making me post more so do continue.

Well it's too fun because you fall for it too easily :p

I love having you on this board for all the inside scoops.

Current match day squad. (I'm incredibly bias, also I can't spell forgive me)

1. Healy
2. Hibbard
3. Cole
4. A.W. Jones
5. Parling
6. SOB
7. Tuparic
8. Flataue
9. This is the problem position, know Gats it will be Phillips
10. Sexton
11. North
12. No real standouts so Roberts because of
13. BOD
14. Zebo/Hogg
15. Halfpenny

16. Best
17. Jenkins
18. A. Jones
19. Hines questions about his fitness over 80 fine, not over 20. 2 reasons that I want to see him here is hes a great player and from the 2009 dvd a great joker
20.Wood
21. Laidlaw
22. Farrel
23. Tuilangi

Certainly haven't endeared myself to the english :D

I like this starting 23 quite a lot! I think the only differences I'd have would be Jones (mostly because I think Cole's style of play would be a have a little bit more impact off the bench than Jones's would - that said it's gotta be those two in the test squad anyway!) starting and I couldn't resist having Lydiate. Warburton or Robshaw (or all) in there somewhere! Personally not been too convinced by SOB recently, but think that's because he's hidden away doing the dirty work as a 7, but shifting him back to (in my eyes his rightful place) at 6 may well get him back to smashing through people for fun!

Not too sure on that right wing spot either, I'm a fan of Zebo, but wondering if that injury may well make it a struggle to get his place out there in Aus. Hogg on the wing is a great shout, but think I'd like to see him on the bench over Tuilagi (seemed like Italy and Wales marked him out of the game wayy too easily, could still be a huge threat off the bench), he's a damn versatile player who could play most places in the backline imo. My personal choice has to be Bowe - him and Lydiate are the only two players who missed the 6 Nations, but should be fit for the Lions, that I'd pick no question about it. Ferris too, but by the sounds of it his knee is way too screwed at the moment, huge pity.

Thanks for the -rep Lucky Number 7. You're the best! And all for simply voicing my opinion on a fly half. Great.

I'll remember that the next time you question a Welsh player shall I?

I'd point out Hogg's never played on the wing professionally. I know it looks like he has all the attributes, but he has never done it.

Oh, and Ferris' knee is fine. It's his ankle that's the problem at the moment. Unfortunately Bowe is set to miss the quarter final, makes it unlikely he'll able to prove himself. Would be a bit of a gamble, but then again, so would the other wingers, on account of them being a little shunt....

Was at it and remember him but to be honest he didn't get a whole lot of chances to show but defensively he was good and solid and as you say he has the ability to be superb crash ball merchant but needs work on passing and I found he seemed to suck in towards 12 which is why I even said on day he'd the look of a 12 that protects the 10.

I didn't say it was ignorant to suggest or converse about other options...however to suggest that Sexton has not been the form out half in NH rugby over the last few years would be ignorant and not to treat him as the best option for that lions ten Jersey would be also appear very silly IMO. Work on your reading comprehension.

for the second part of the post it's been a long time coming nearly every single post I've seen of yours is either wumming or utter scutter. It will likely continue. So continue playing the victim card if you'd like.

I'd imagine it was for the bizarre and mildly pathetic spelling of the names you did earlier. No one minds when you disagree on rugby related issues, but it's no excuse to be a dick.

I guess now wouldn't be a good time for me to suggest Biggs on wing, just so I can watch his long, flaxen mane flowing in the breeze as he gallops down the pitch...

Whoops...I mean...

das
He's a supreme boss..

I'd be up for him touring solely for how exciting it is watching his golden hair cut through a defence

I think that if over in Australia Kearney hits top form he's a better player than Halfpenny when both are at their best and he could get the nod ahead of him. Halfpenny is the most likely player to start due to his extremely high level of consistency but if, and it's a big if, Kearney hits top form he could overtake Halfpenny.

Rob mixes the spectacular with the meh. By that I mean he can be fantastic for about 3 months and follow it up with a period of similar length when he's pretty average. Essentially he oscillates between being a better player than Halfpenny and a worse one pretty regularly in my opinion. I'd bring him on the tour, and see which one is playing better come test time. Simples.

Can Hogg play 13?

Yeah to be fair an in form Kearney could very easily take the fullback position, I think Halfpenny at his best is an equally good player overall but offers a bit less in attack as Kearney is often brilliant in that department. I'd agree that both should be on tour and just battle it out backrow style, although i think Halfpenny will be on the pitch if Kearney get's the job. Wouldn't be surprised if Hogg was stuck in at 11 or 13 if he keeps up some good form until the end of the season, provides a lot in attack.

Heres a wee clip of Hogg scoring a hatrick vs munster playing 13

not bad

Well yeah, over the last few years he probably/arguably has been the form 10, for club. But of recent times there are others that I think you could argue a case for. And I really don't see any problem with me doing that. Ffs if you can't take a player you like being questioned then why the hell are you on this forum in the first place? And with the "work on your reading comprehension" comment, could you be any more patronizing?

My posts are not "wumming" or "utter scutter", some of them are just trying to have a laugh and a general sense of humour, which is something you really don't seem to possess. For the last time, my questioning of Sexton is NOT A JOKE. I actually genuinely wanted some sort of fly-half debate. Light-hearted fly half debate. Instead I got called a twat, dick, and told I was speaking out of my ass. F*** that. Like the "Well it's too fun because you fall for it too easily :p" comment was OBVIOUSLY a joke, why else would it have the bloody :p face in it? Jeez.

With that comment earlier I was just making the light-hearted point that it is ridiculous to criticize the English posters for not spelling "Healy" correctly. Who gives a f***? You still know it's Healy. I then wrote a comment that had a few Irish players' names misspelt just in a jokey way, again. Not to be taken seriously by anybody, yet it was for whatever reason. It just bemuses me. How the hell is that comment "being a dick"? I don't see where the offense has been caused? I'm so so sorry that I spelt some players' names wrong, but the fact people are getting arsey about it is just proving the original point I was trying to make with the comment itself - that it doesn't bloody matter if someone spells a name incorrectly.

Lads, chill. Ospreylian reckons that other fly-halves have recently improved in their play to the point they're on the same rough level, albeit without the record of success and advantages of excellent team mates to show it. He's wrong of course ;) but it's a fair enough opinion.

And the spelling thing should all be blamed on Austin Healey. He's got people used to the idea that you spell the surname with a e after the l and that c**t before the h.

Thank f***. Somebody has their head screwed on. I am completely fine with you thinking my opinion is wrong. And that's what it is, an OPINION. And, oh look, Peat hasn't called me a dick or a twat. Funny that. It's probably because he realizes I was just trying to discuss things while having a laugh. I applaud you Peat ;)

EDIT: Oh, and to Big Ginger 8 and Lucky Number 7, you've both double-teamed me and knocked a bar off my reputation. Hope you're both happy. I'm sure you're getting so much pleasure from this right now. Congratulations. Big woop.
