Would NZ pick Nadolo ?

All the time really??? Fiji anhiliated them in Dubai last year by 44 points to 0. The most recents competition first the Oceania sevens the Fiji sevens development team beat them in the finals convincingly and the the first IRB sevens series in gold coast Australia a week later the Fiji first team won it beating everyone by more than 30 points each game. Last season player of the season was a Fijian Viriviri.

Which team has been more successful do you think?

So hang on wait, I've been finding you hard to follow. I think what you are saying - and please correct me if I'm wrong - is that you believe Fiji has the best wingers in the world? I think it's taken 52 posts of the same drivel, but I now am certain everyone has no doubt that you think Fijian wingers are better than any other nations wingers. Great. Sorted. Move on.

It is great to see such devotion on the forum again.... I swear he has just copied posts from young Nicknz from 5 or so years ago and relaced 'Hosea Gear' with 'Fijian wingers' :p

Pfft. Caleb Ralph played for the NZ 7' s side, hence Fiji have clearly been - and always will be - the greatest 7's side in the world. No rational man can argue with that logic ;)

We're talking about Fijian sevens wingers. But since you brought up the record. Tell me in all those years New Zealand won those ***les who were their play makers?? Yeah that's right from 1998 it was Amasio Raoma a Fijian and when he retired guess who took over yep another Fijian Tomasi Cama junior. And don't get me started on the numbers of Fijian playing in that New Zealand sevens team that were a big part of their success. Oh and who is the best sevens player ever yep another Fijian Serevi.
In the Dubai sevens last year NZ lost 44 to 0 to Fiji and Cama wasn't playing. All of the games where Fiji spanked NZ their play maker wasn't a Fijian. Every successful NZ sevens side had a Fijian calling the shots.

Without Fijian playing in their team New Zealand would be nothing.

Ok so at first you said NZ sevens don't win all the time. Now I have proved you to be wrong there, you are admitting we have lots of success but only due to the Fijians in our squad, and without them we would be nothing. What's weird about that is how we have managed such success with 2 or 3 Fijians in our team when Fiji had a whole squad full of Fijians every year! Any explanations you can offer on that?

You would also think then, given the supposed greatness of Fijian sevens players, that they would have had a stranglehold on the player of the year award, how could they not after the sort of knowledge you have just imparted..

Let's have a look then shall we:

· 2004: Simon Amor England)
· 2005: Orene Ai'i New Zealand)
· 2006: Uale Mai Samoa)
· 2007: Afeleke Pelenise New Zealand)
· 2008: DJ Forbes New Zealand)
· 2009: Ollie Phillips England)
· 2010: Mikaele Pesamino Samoa)
· 2011: Cecil Afrika South Africa)
· 2012: Tomasi Cama New Zealand)
· 2013: Tim Mikkelson New Zealand)
· 2014: Samisoni Viriviri Fiji)

Well that's awkward, 2 Fijians in 10 years. Two Samoans (four if you want to count Ai'i and Pelenise as NZers with Samoan heritage), two Englishmen, Two NZers (other than the aforementioned Samoan-linked guys).

What is the excuse now? The award is rigged because nobody wants to see Fijian players win it every year?

You tell me mate how come Serevi haven't won it especially in 2005 which included him captaining the team that won the world cup? And in 2006 when Fiji won the series and William Ryder was on fire how come he didn't win it?

Mate even you would know that in 2005 when Fiji won the world cup with Serevi captaining where they demolished New Zealand in the final he at least would have been one of the players in running. In 2006 William Ryder was the best player when Fiji won the series. Yet both Serevi and Ryder were not even in contention.

That could potentially be down to, you know, other players having a better year than the Fijian guys? There should have been a NZ player winning it every year bar one if the logic you are using actually made sense (i.e. best player on the team who won the series should win the award). Thankfully, the IRB seems to actually choose the player who had the best season..

Any more excuses?

I'm not making excuses. Those players that won it deserved it because they play the whole season. Most Fijian players just play few tournaments and get scooped by French clubs. Ratini played one tournament and he was offered a contract which he took and so do others like Bobo, Caucau, Vunibaka, Delasau, Goneva, Nalaga etc etc. Viriviri was the first winger since the series started in 1999 to actually play the whole series. And he won it. The only time I have a question about it is 2005 and 2006. 2005 Serevi captained the winning world cup team and 2006 Ryder winning alot of games for Fiji in magical style that lead to the series win. Other than that I'm happy.

I like how it's basically just Flyingdolphins against a tag team of us kiwis ;) One of us gets overcome by all the crap and bows out, only for another to take his place

At the end of the day I think we can all agree that anyone who thinks Nadolo is better than Savea has genuinely no idea.

Mate I have facts to back up my claims you don't. Let's try again both club and international percentage of tries, line breaks, try assist and metres gained Nadolo is better than Savea those are the facts. On top of that Nadolo can kick better hence he's been kicking successfully for Fiji. If anyone has no idea it's the ones arguing without facts to back up their claim.

Ok mate, you are right and everyone else in the world who watches rugby is wrong.

No not everyone just you one eyed kiwis :sly:

Hahahaha something about the pot and kettle would seem to fit here... if you offered any other international team in the world one of either Savea or Nadolo, do you actually think any of them would choose Nadolo?
