In the same way Portugal are Ronaldo and thats it. Guys like Higuain, Di Maria etc are good players but they just seem to just think, "give it to Messi, he'll sort it out" which he can't every single time as brilliant as he is.

Messi genius run...and nobody deserved the goal more than Di Maria.

Di Maria has worked his backside off all game. The BBC comms claim he's had a "stinker" and given the ball away x amount of times...failing to realise that he's up against a blanket Swiss defence and is receiving zero support from the awful Argie midfield so is having to a lot more than he would do with Madrid.

Man of the match by a mile.

that's the spirit. Do you feel represented by the U.S.A. btw, I know all about the whole animosity thing btw USA and CAN, but they're the only North American team there, surely you must feel "involved" or connected somehow.

To me the Netherlands vs. Spain game was still the best game. Maybe it's just my biased viewpoint, but it had goals, an expectation, and some great goals...

In terms of raw sill and talent and flow I'd agree, but the tension in the U.S. vs. Belgium game was higher with it in the knockout stages, the tension fell out of Argentina vs. Nigeria game for a while when Iran was looking dour in the other match.
