TRF EA Rugby '06 NZ Tournament

Good Point Danny. We did say today. I'll post up some rules on the first post of the thread a bit later. It will by no means be "the definitive rules" that comes down to what the rest of you guys all think.

It'll basically be a consolidation of what we've already discussed.

Jeez you'll have to hand out dark glasses to us all Iversen, the gold from all those awards is quite glaring :p

Well I finally bought an xbox off trade me and am right this minute helping my freind learn how to play. We have hired a game but come next week I will buy one.

Sweet, can't have you getting rusty now 'almost as golden as iversen'
Yeah lol!!!

Not all that glitters is Gold.......... B)

Training a new guy on how to pay is like a breath of fresh air after the stifling defence of my former trainer....I feel freer to attack oturageously lol!

We had just finished watching some Cristiano Ronaldo vids with him doing all his fancy footwork....so I was teasing my mate when we were playing by pretending I was Cristiano Ronaldo on a rugby feild hahaha!!!!

I think my mate may be hooked as he wanted to play all night long!!!!! Hopefully he will get good enough to consider joining TRF and coming to Wellington.

right i been away for a week and not much has happened. wtf u guys doin :p

whats the plan anyone know?

i will be gettin my place sorted for you guys probably the weekend before ya turn up. moving furniture and stuff around getting the spare bed out, and maybe even pump up the air bed just in case someone wants it (ok i am not totally lazy right?)

you guys got times when you arriving? whats going on etc?

what about the torny itself? have we finalised the people participating? format of the torny etc?

i know we have rules set out and stuff so its all good :)

As per earlier arrangements the Southerners are at your place still I take it, and we'll be in Wellington bout 8/8.30am on the Friday the 29 Sep - need to check :p

Seeing as it's been a bit quiet in here lately I'm just going to throw this out there - any thought on restricting the use of France in our upcoming tournament?

As almost every single game I have against them whether vs xbox or multiplayer, I'm forced into using my entire subs bench due to injuries, sometimes all before halftime! It even got to the point of an injury occuring at almost every stop in play, with me having to replace my fullback 3 times, and having 2 loose forwards as my wingers!

yeah i am all for that, cause the french are dirty players :)

and just to make it fairer :)

Won't go banning the French just on my experiences, would suggest only if the majority of us have found the same happens we contemplate it?

I am against banning the French...or any team.

The French may injure others....but it is a lottery who they injure. Only significant the injuries if it is star players.

The French also need to hurt others as they have no superstars in their backs and collectively the pace of their quickest guys do not scare anyone. England have Robinson, Ireland have BOD, South Africa have Habana and Wales have Williams. NZ and AUS have "collective" pace with the outside backs rather than a sole out and out superstar. France have neither a superstar or "collective" pace with their back 3. Putting France's fastest (Melu, El Horga, and Babista) still does not cut it as none of them can cancel the "star" runners and the group collectively against NZ and AUS outsides still come up short with pace.

I think the French play exactly like in real life. They may injure loads of players in one game.....then in another they may injure no one. This is our experience of them in multiplayer.

Anyway......I take it we will have 3 projectors (Me, Woosah, Danny Bullen)?

spell my name right for a change, please :p

woosaah :p

...I try to remember the names of my vanquished players....but there are so many  .....

How did you come up with a name?

I am really looking forward to seeing your projector as mine is so the budget one. Do I need to bring up my 32 widescreen tv to make four monitors going at once?

Anyway.....I take it we have finalised these as:

International Teams only. Rosters must be countrymen only. All personal rosters will be loaded on all xboxs before the tournament begins under own names. So for example if there are 18 guys then there will be 18 England rosters under different user names.
Round robin twice (Each player having a go at home/team first choice/kit choice and side to sit on)
S14 points system (bonus points/for an against points/ etc)
Old NRL 5 team playoff system
During all playoff games the higher ranked player from the round robin has first choice of team, home advantage, side to sit, and kit choice (except final where the location will be changed to random)
No early tackles with penalties as follows: Within own 22 then lineout throw at halfway, own 22 to halfway then lineout throw opposition 22, halfway or opposition half then lineout throw opposition 5m line. All throws are at the cam sideline. If time is up in any half then instead of a lineout it is to be an attacking ruck 5 metres from the cam side touchline and at the field desinated position for the penalty
10 mins each half
Major Semi Final, Final, and Grand Final 20 min half games
Wind: Strong
Difficulty: Elite
Drawn games during playoff then Golden point rules.
Management dealings only to be accessed when ball is out of play. Any infringement of this then the early tackle ball penalty guidelines are to be followed. Management accessing during a conversion or penalty kick window showing and the ball not yet being "inflight" will result in a 5m attacking lineout at the next start of play. If time is up and the kick could potentially have equalled the game or perhaps won it, then game will restart with the aforementioned rules occuring and the Golden point rule in force. To safeguard from false management accessing accusation happening the non kicker can place his control pad in the hands of the kicker and declare "no access" until he (or she) chooses to take the controller back at any time. Non kicker is free from management access issues during the time when kicker has the control pad.

Anything else to add??????

i didnt understand any of that last bit :)

getting new hard drive in the next couple of days then going to work out the capture side of things and see how i go. hopefully i can make it easy to use and get 2 or 3 people to be able to do the reocordings, instead of just me:)

danny, we should have a practice torny :) set up with recordings etc? i havnt been to your place since, we should have a little hit out :)

i came up with my name after watching bad boys 2 with my flatmate. we used to go around saying woosaah woosaah, just like the guys. we were dicks, and it kind of stuck and people starting just saying it to me, and then it kinda stuck. it was better than my last nick i was calling myself :)

oh and before the woosaah bit me and my flatmate would go around saying solid after we watched undercover brother :)
