I won't be light years ahead of everybody. The kicking game neutralises that. Nothing like kicking yourself out of trouble.

All I will have that will be different is a different way of attacking and a very strong defence (hopefully).

You are right about different people and the way they play. I may get caught out by a different style as I now only play my trainer. All our other R2006 players are too scared to pay us now!

You guys will be fine I'm sure. The cool thing will be the experience playing strangers for the first time at a game we are good at (by then we should be :lol: )

The projector we use is a cheap school one (even though it is brand new). I can see on the wall those TV like pixels......not really like a true LCD image.....surprised me because I thought it just projected like real film at the movies rather than a TV image blown up????

Is yours the same? Does it look like walking up to a big tube TV?

mine is an LCD one, you can still see the individual pixles if you go up close to it but you dont notice it at all otherwise.

cant say that i remember exactly what its like, its fine if you are watching movies

dannys one was aweful i had trouble driving home when i was there last time everything was so blurry

lol...yeah ours is a bit blurry. It also gets really blurry when certain things happen quickly...and other times the screen stutters.....like the XBox is strugling with the numbers?????

DVD's are fine though.

We can still play R2006 ok on our projector....though the bigger the image the less clarity and sharpness.

So what do you mean yours is LCD????? I am not too clued on about projectors....sounds like yours will be the real deal comne tourney time.

well if you ask about my projector from me you will get a bias opinion. i got it for a cheer myself up present after i broke up with my girlfriend of 2 1/2 years. sure did cheer me up

also cheered up my flatmate at the time as well, though he is a bit sad since i took it.

woosaah you need to take it easy on the dissing of my projector it does allright for the price - still manage to have alot of xbox games running on it, if i had the money id buy a better quality one but beggars cant be choosers.

Gay-guy - if your projector is anything like mine then youll be blown away by woosaahs, also bullytheguru is very keen to play some rugger with you, ill remind him to pm you to arrange a time. He actually played pretty well this past weekend even won a few games. Hes very worried about facing your expertise tho.

Yeah....tell him to pm me. I can teach him heaps if he wants to learn the latest moves......I am free most times.....it is the Holidays atm so I am home during the day.

Then he may play my trainer....however there is a warning playing my trainer....people who actually play him RETIRE as he has a habit of making everything you do look like crap....until you feel like you have absolutely nothing to give...he is that good!

lol i dont mean to bag your projector and yes i meant thursday no idea why i said sunday i was talking to my mate and i am going diving sunday so it might have been around the same time

been under a bit of stress with work so would be good to have a break

your projector was fine, i got used to it after a game and forgot i couldnt see properly it would be good anyway

I'm going to say lets just get it over and done with and make it International teams, as this is basically our World Cup. Most of us are not going to do anything this big (gaming-wise) for another year, so lets make it internationals.

Who's with me on that then?

I am with you on International teams.....I am keen on anything but I suppose international teams carry more "prestige" than clubs......unless it is Samoa lol!

the problem with the polls that we have been having is that any TRF member can tick......we have no idea whether it is one member using different user names to vote......public declaration on your choice is a much more reliable system

BTW.....who exactly is coming?

Another thing I would like to see is to have the round robin system (this done 2 times so both players get a first choice on teams) rather than the pool system. This may take longer but at least with the round robin system everyone gets to play everyone. We are not travelling all this way just so we can play in a pool of say 6 people and then get knocked out and never get the chance to play the others. If I wanted to play just a small group of players I would stay home. but i am sure everyone would agree that we are going for the experience of playing a variety of people....the more the merrier.....because this game is not online.....you can't play just anybody whenever you feel like it. The round robin system I feel is more satisfying so that everyone is playing until the playoffs. Also the playoffs are never that long (cos it is knockout time) so it won't be so bad watching. Playing everyone in a round robin is good also so that when you watch the finalists you do have a stake in it cos you are comparing yourself to the finalists and where abouts they come. Like that team that was the only ones to beat the Crusaders this year....or the force when they nearly won against the Crusaders.

I also believe the old NRL system of 5 teams making the playoff to be one of the best systems out. It is not as long as the current 8 team NRL system....nor is it instant knockout like a World Cup system (well it is sudden death for 4 vs 5). But what it does is that it gives standings 1-3 a life as well as determining that the 2 best teams make it. The two best teams in the soccer World Cup may actually have been Italy and Germany....but we never saw them play in a final because they had to eliminate each other in the semi.......let me explain the 5 team playoff method.

Standings from round robin comp....teams are placed 1 to 5.

First playoff week.
Minor semi final 1 = 5 vs 4 (sudden death...loser out...winner to play loser of 3 vs 2 next week)
Minor semi final 2 = 3 vs 2 (loser plays winner of 5 vs 4 next week....winner plays 1 next week)
1 = (has a bye)

Second play off week
Major semi final 1 = Winner of 5 vs 4 vs loser of 3 vs 2 (sudden death with winner playing loser of vs of 3 vs 2 next week) Major Semi final = 1 plays winner of 3 vs 2 (loser plays winner of the game just above next week....winner goes straight to the grandfinal in a fortnight)

Third playoff week
Final = Winner of Major Semi one vs Loser of Major semi 2 (sudden death with winner to next weeks Grand Final)
Bye for winner of Major semi 2 = (straight ot the Grand final)

Fourth playoff
Grand final = <span style="color:blue">Winner of Major semi 2 vs winner of Final (Loser becomes runner up...winner is the champion)
