TRF EA Rugby '06 NZ Tournament

i think adding in 2 player coop teams tri nations might be a goer - adds an extra element as you ned to be able to work together.

So to Recap...I would like to see:

Super14/Euro Tournament (singles)
International Tournament (singles)
Tri Nations (doubles)
And the strippers......hehehe

Haha!

The doubles looks interesting....though some of us will have to make a pairing right then and there....it probably won't be as prestigious as single player...similar to how tennis sees doubles.

Now due to the incredibly high level of play that will be on show we will have to record and post up the final for all to see.....and for all to watch and learn some secret techniques on show

Random Doubles Tri-Nations with Barbarians rules on easy for fun at the end.... Score as many tries as possible.

The Canterbury lineup with MacIntyre at first and Carter at centre instead of Laulala is very impressive finding gaps in the midfield.

You know im gonna want the canes and want crusader blood! - no fog this time lol

True, with his strength and pace, six pack and oh so tight undies forcing his way through those gaps... sorry to steal your thunder there Gay-guy :p

Is an interesting point, are we assigning ourselves teams to stick with all the way through, or is it just pick a team each time you play, and what if two people want to use same team?

If so I'll take Hurricanes.

EDIT - Ah sh*t see already happened!

The canes only have a chance in a 5 minute half game.....and with the hope that they hold the ball for all of the first half....anything else and they will just be spectators of the red machine......

Picking teams will happen each and every game i imagine - as stated earlier i believe a coin toss will enable the sorting of both wanting the same teams - surely we all have a second team that we like to play as? mine would be stormers or waratahs

i havnt played as anyone other than the crusaders

have played as the chiefs or cardif but that was in world league and i hated it :)

Fair enough, agree make wind strong, otherwise looks good. Would probably choose between Blues, Bulls, Brumbies from S14. Toulouse or Leinster from Europe, but haven't really played much with those teams to make a choice between others.

What does everyone else think, one team all the way, or pick a team per game?

when playing MP with Spawn we found ourselves playing many different teams - and usually certain teams were best suited certain teams - cant give any secrets away tho

RE: Dobrien7 Question?

I like the idea that you can change teams per game - this way you can put up teams to counter the opponent teams. Also means that if you go the canes then i cant - and with about 10 of us wanting to play so far that leads to about 5 people having to play with a team they dont like.

Yeah true good point, but I think using different teams will cancel out anyone saying "You only won because you had Crusaders or whoever"

Home team should have 1st choice of team to use. Have no problem sticking with 1 team, just thought this could negate a possible issue IMO.

Any who, over to you guys :)

EDIT - arrrgh I take too long posting, variable teams allow people to use their team here and there. Agree people would get put out not getting their one and only choice, and that to win this, you should be able to use a variety of teams to overcome everyone, not just be good with one. Again just IMO

Im sure the old " you only won coz you had ?????? team" will come out anyway - but reality is, choose wisely - if for example woosaah wants to go crusaders and you want canes then all is well, but a clever ploy may be to decide you want to go the crusaders too, just to stop woosaah having them - coin is tossed you win you are crusaders and woosaah is left looking bewildered at having to use a different team. Competition is war, gotta pull out all the tricks hehehehe

internationaly its different for me, i can play with all blacks aussie or england no problem, but again only really played it against the pc

i need competition fast...

Playing against the AI of PC/Xbox/PS2 gets easy, you can memorise moves, player positions, you can tell what they are doing before they do it, so therefore easy to counter/exploit.

Humans on the other hand are variable, what gets me is getting used to a style and then being able to succeed against it, only for them to bloody change what they're doing! But that's exactly what you need, exposure to that. But more importantly it's the ability to think on your feet unlike AB's circa '98, and be able to change your game plan to something that works. And using different teams helps this too as different teams have strengths in different positions...
