Transfers rumours

They seriously do not know what they've just bought.

Its like *really* wanting to buy a Porche and ending up buying a 944 instead...

How the hell do I rep people these days?

Damned new fangled contraption!

It's the little star button in the corner of each post.

Munster are doing a pretty good job of offloading some of their more high profile useless players. That's Buckle and To'OL shipped off to the premiership in the last season. The IRFU will be happy, considering that they were footing the wage bill.

@Feicarsinn: are there any more players you would be happy to ship off to England or France?

That money can be wasted on Donncha O'Callaghan, Paddy Wallace and Gordon D'arcy now.

I think they're putting some funds aside to offer Deccie a new 4 year deal.

Serious question? Well yeah, probably. There's little point having the likes of the two lads I mentioned around the provinces. They take up a good deal of resources, shouldn't be in contention for the national team and deny provincial spots to more promising players. They're also not as good as the NIQ's that the like of Munster could get for similar amounts of money. I'd like to see Gordon D'arcy and Mick O'Driscoll head off truth be told. I think we've gotten all that we can out of them both internationally and domestically.

Let's not forget its IRFU and NOT Munster who foot DOC's contract.
Our 2 preferred locks are Ryan and POC and well not our problem if IRFU see it differently.
Also DOC a good squad player to have and personally I thinks he is a lot better now off bench as it seems to be only way to get him going with a bit of fire in him

Feic: Micko has never let us down and has been superb presence in absense of internationals. But he will probably retire at end of season but unlikely he'd move abroad again

Lads, before we take the **** out of LI for that signing too much, at least they are trying to live up to their name for once...

Also, yes, Richie Rees is going to Connacht. Seriously good signing for them, god knows what he gets out of it.

Aye, you would have thought he'd be sick of playing alongside Dan Parks by now

Brightened up my lunch break!!

Tremendous signing though. I'm not bothered that he's Irish, I'm way more concerned with the fact that he's good and at 28, bang in his prime. Munster have an excess of talent at 9. I thought we might be in the market for Stringer but this is even better.

Not unlike dodge, he is a superb defender at 9 and he's an excellent reader of the game.

his signing is a credit to the whole organisation.

What a fantastic signing!

It's certainly good news

It is one of those signings that is good for everyone. The club and him, he is a great player and bar injury at a crucial time he would have been first choice at the last WC and would have been on the last Lions tour. He is young enough and needs to prove to Munster that he still has what it takes.

Wow, great signing!

Biggest 'name' signing since Magne?

Good news

OMG, brilliant

Show me the scrum half who performs well when the pack in front of him is being systematically dismantled, as the Irish pack was on Saturday.

Strewth! Fantastic news!!

Class act. Great signing. Another Irishman.

that is a great signing.

Didnt see that one coming. Brilliant signing.

great work smiffy!

How long has ToL been out of form for?

At his stage...probably longer than he was in form for. Since he broke his leg 3 years ago. Been poor for most of the two years since he came back.

His passing is poor, his box-kicks are infinite and awful, his game management is poor. He's more a blindside flanker than a scrumhalf at this stage.

While I don't rate O'Leary as a test standard player, London Irish are right to be delighted with this signing. For a team who struggle in the bottom half of the Premiership, he's a massive step up. For all his faults, on his day he's a great athlete at scrum half and is a fantastic defender.

For O'Leary it's a great move since he'll start regularly. For Ireland it's a great move since it means another Irish scrum half is starting each week. For Munster it's a great move since it gets a highly paid reserve player off the books and allows them to promote younger players.

He'll at least be a step up from Paul Hodgson and a good alternative to Darren Allinson. Who knows with a change of scenery it could reinvigorate him as a player.[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
