One thought is he wants to be a 7 (Best chance of getting into a England shirt ATM IMO, and if Salvi re-signs he won't get any game time there.

Unless Tigers have a flanker lined up couldn't see it happening. Mauger is rumoured to be brining some SH players with him.

Sounds like Mauger is bringing in a lot of changes both in staff and players, guess if he wants the AB job in the future he needs to show his ability at HC.

He might very well become so... at least as much ability as Calum Clarke, Downsons half the way down the hill... and Wood plays 7 for Saints doesn't he? Or sometimes Dowson at 7 and Wood at 6. Either way, Wood and Gibson could easily be accommodated.

Dowson is out of contract this year I think. So I suspect we'll see Clark take move down in the pecking order and Gibson begin to start a lot more as next year progresses.

What happened to that guy Fisher who had a storming start to the season?

Good signing. Great that Maitland is going to a team that generally like to throw the ball around a bit. Think it could be a good fit.

Catterick staying with Newcastle. Why? He is terrible, genuinely. I have watched Falcons quite a few times recently and he really is a bad player; threw the ball down the tunnel in play against Newport! Hammersley, now he is going to be a good player.

Catterick was superb the other week, think it was against Saints?
It's only his first season (/few weeks) as a 10, so some wobbles are to be expected but he's shown flashes of real promise.

That move could really effect him really well, think its a good move for him and I'm sure it will help Glasgow by playing some more youthful players.
