Transfers 2012/13

Surely Jason Harris-wright to Connaught must be one of the signings of the season. I mean a heineken cup winning hooker going to Connaught that's a neat deal for them. How he wasn't starting last season I will never know. He's the future of Irish hookers.

So by South African lock, I'm hoping that translates into big bruising ba**rd. If so, that could be a big signing for the Scarlets, the more grunt in the tight five the better. Another couple like that, plus a tighthead and I might re-consider the Scarlets chances in the HC next season.

So what's Earle like? Don't get a chance to see any SH rugby really, due to uni workload.

He isn't a bad player. Not really big by modern second row standards (196cm, 114kg).
Good in the lineout though, and solid enough in the loose.

Hopefully this is a better deal than Hottie Louw.

He was the boy mind, wasn't he?! xD

Oh Duck, loving your signature - it's my iphone lock-screen wallpaper! I am all over it!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Cameron Shepherd (Western Force) ---> Northampton Saints

Good signing for them, would have liked him at the O's! C'mon Cuddy, pull out that dosh so we can get a Mark Gerrard or something
What? Steven Gerrard would be a better signing.
You've got Ross Jones coming through, and Fussell might be improving,.

Don't count on it. He's had one game at fullback this year and that's when we smashed Munster. You're right Ross Jones is coming through but he's still a bit green for the HC imo not quite good enough yet. Mark Gerrard's a good player and he would add a lot to our inexperienced back line, an ulikely signing though just using him as an example.

Yeah, but you need to aim higher than Gerrard! I think Adam Jones would hit the line quicker.
Gareth Owen will be back soon enough, and has played fullback before.

I think you're underestimating Gerrard quite a bit there. He may not be the quickest runner or have the flashiest skills but he hits good lines, kicks out of hand extremely well, solid in defence and overall just good game awareness and experience as well. I think Owen could do well at fullback, he's just coming back from a major injury though and we don't know what type of player he will be and he also didn't play very well there before he was injured (Faletau running around him comes to mind)

Johnnie Beatty to MHL........................................good signing!

Yeah, I'd never have Owen at full-back. I think he could be a good player but I was never convinced by him at 15 - not mobile or quick enough. I'd just keep him in the middle of the park and cover as fly-half.

Well he messed with the Stormers' line-out 2 weekends ago against Bekker who has close to 15cm on him. Not too sure about his general play though the Cheetahs scrum has gone well but how much he has contributed in that regard I also couldn't say.

Yet Johnson played him on the wing...
