You're right that Hatton trains a lot a day, not 8 hours though but a lot compared to Sonny, but I'm factoring his slickness to get inside Sonny, he just doesn't have any. Hatton would have so much length to cover, even if Sonny is a newbie, he'd be able to keep him at bay.
You say a lot of things, but you haven't said how Hatton would deal with it yet. That's all this is about, really.
