The Movie Thread

Just found out this 300 prequel will have Eva Green in it. Probability of boobs is high

Saw G.I. Joe the other week. Pretty cheesy film with sequences that were just too unbelievable. Can't believe I payed to watch it haha.

I can't wait for Man Of Steel, that'll be my movie of the year I reckon.

We had a movie marathon weekend last week. A friend of mine is getting a divorce and needed cheering up. It was a weekend of beers, burgers and movies. It was so bad we ended up watching "A Late Quartet" because there simply were no other movies left.

- A Place Beyond the Pines
Wonderful movie. Great acting by Bradley Cooper and the story just gets to you.

I Give it a Year
Funny, since it's about a married couple getting a divorce. Wasn't the best pick of the weekend by us for him but a movie which causes a laugh or two. Not really that impressive though

Kon-Tiki
This movie is a bit of a let down. Especially after seeing "Life of Pi" earlier this year. Same concept, movie being carried by special effects. Good movie, not great.

These were basically the most noticable movies of the weekend.

She the gorgeous one that who showed them off beautifully, and for which James Bond got his pills beaten for, in Montengro?

If so........put me down to watch it!!

Add The Hobbit, Man of Steel, The Wolverine & Captain America to that list & you can see it is going to be an epic year for movies.

Not technically a film but it was at the cinema but went to see War of The World : New Generation Alive on Stage.

Basically (in order to make a few more quid) they've taken the Live show recorded at the O2 end of last year and put on at cinemas before its out on DVD. I really liked it, really expanded on the pervious live show with more stage special FX, good cast too, Jason Donovan was good but Ricky Wilson (him off of the Kaiser Cheifs).

Not the same as the live show but for £12.50 you can't complain. I do recommend people try to see it or at least listen to the CD, new or 70's original.

I saw the Hobbit the other night. Like Lord of the Rings, some scenes drag on and on for ages which ended up in me fast forwarding sections of it.

A more recent film I watched is: the way back. Its a survival type of film. Prisoners in Siberia escape and go on an epic journey through freezing siberia to hot desters to mountain tops as they make their way to India. It was an enjoyable film with no over the top scenes either.

One of the best comedies I have seen in a while is called Priceless. Its a French comedy and subtitled. Its very enjoyable about a professional golddigger and a man who is after her and ends up in a similar situation. Its a nice change from the usual classless American comedy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqQaWB6u-p8

Watching Love and other drugs
well I was pleasantly surprised at Anne Hathaways acting, top notch... And I don't know if I mean the acting or not...

I think Star Trek: Into Darkness lived up to the hype. Such a bloody good film. Benedict Cumberlandsausage is such a total badass and steals any scene he is in. My new fave Star Trek fim, replacing 1996's First Contact.

Yes, I am a bit of a trekkie.

Star Trek was very good really liked theses last two films quality Sci-Fi stuff which is some times rare.

Jack Reacher
The Raid
The History Boys

All good films.
I watched Jack Reacher last night, along with Gangster Squad and to be honest I thought they were relatively average. Mind you Rosamund Pike being 2 months pregnant was a godsend ;).

Sooo disappointed with Gangster Squad!

I finished watching Zero Dark Thirty a while ago and thought it was brilliant!

Can't wait for World War Z to come out!

Agreed on both accounts. Jack Reacher's appeal was over after the very well filmed introduction.

Watched Nitro Circus last night. For those who don't know Nitro Circus is like Jackass but way better as they try to actually succeed at their stunts rather than Jackass who just arse about. Was a lot of fun and you watch some of what they do and marvel at the ***anium testicles it takes to try these things
