The Movie Thread

I've never seen Taken 1

Just realised that despite this film being in my collection for quite a while, I hadn't yet watched it. Watching it now, great so far.

Talking of big Liam. I have just watched The Grey. I enjoyed it for what it is a fun no brainer to fill a few hours. Not a bad film by any stretch im my opinion not sure how others feel.

I started watching it, but it was quite a dull beginning, and decided I felt like watching something a little different. So I watched Reign Over Me, an Adam Sandler film, but not his usual comedy style film, but a serious Drama. I really enjoyed it, ad thought it was a great performance by Sandler. Looking forward to him doing more serious roles like this.

Yeah I think The Gray takes a while to get into not his best but still decent good ending.

Ab Lincoln was a good shout :)

I'm just back from seeing that. If one isn't all stuck up about questionable plots and weird vampires and those kind of things it's a fine way to spend an evening, watching those unholy things being dismembered in 3d. I went at midnight after work on a Thursday night, which is when the new films open in town. And I couldn't believe how many women I saw at that place without dates. They filled up the two screen rooms showing some male stripper flick. I was glad to have missed that as I'd need to have my eyes poked out afterward, but we did peek in one of the rooms and see every seat filled with women and one somber looking guy.

Haha, That movie's name is Magic Mike, starring Channing Tatum (the guy from Gi Joe and Step Up)... It's a semi-biopic about him... It looks like a good flick, as long as they don't show any male genitalia, coz then i'm gonna step the F*** out!

The Mechanic typical Jason Statham film really enjoyable though not as good as the Transporter movies. Btw just got Netflix so will probably be posting a lot here.

Chernobyl Diaries - Interesting film. Makes you jump a little at times. Not a bad film but could have been better.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Didn't expect to like it, but it was ace.

I enjoyed the original Transporter movie, but I've never been able to get past the opening car chase of the second one. When I lived with a few friends, we must have started that movie around 10 times and turned it off within 10min. Too over the top.

The Mechanic was ok as far as generic action films go. Got to admit that I'm not a big Statham fan. He's an incredibly limited actor who only suits one type of role, very similar to Vinie Jones, which isn't saying much considering Vinie only made it as an actor on the back of his hard-man persona in football.

I didn't get around to watching The Matchmen when it came out, so I've got that to watch in the next few days.

Just finished watching a film called "God Bless America". If you enjoy your sadistic dark humor, then this is certainly worth a watch.

I enjoy them for what they are I enjoy those sort of ott action films. Statham has something about him that I like also an assassin who drives an E-Type is pretty cool in my book. I guess it's similar to how I enjoy the old Schwarzenegger films I know they're stupid and the actings terrible but I find them fun to watch.

Anyway saw Van Wilder for the first time as well last night. Seeing Ryan Reynolds is the only guy I'd probably go gay for I'm sort of biased but I though it again was an enjoyable film and in parts really funny.

Saw The Amazing Spiderman today, really enjoyed it. It was amazing, if you will. Made all the better by the director's insistence that Emma Stone wear skirts for the whole film (Legs Ahoy!!)

When I first saw the trailer I was against the film but you can genuinely consider this a genuine part of the franchise. The best way to see it is like this film is set in an "alternate reality". A storyline not affecting the Tobey Maguire films.

Sounds good.

Saw Blitz the other day I've seen a lot of stupid movies Blitz was possibly the most stupid.

On the other hand saw Philadelphia for the first time great film.

Project X - was funny from start to finish.

Watched five year engagement tonight ..... boring as f88k shoulda watched top cat

No you shouldn't. Top Cat is undoubtedly the worst film of the year so far, as I'm saying this as a big Top Cat fan. (I say big TC fan, I mean I know all the words to the theme tune) I don't want to think about it. No matter how dull FYE is (I haven't seen it, one of the few things that has slipped me by- I've now seen 50 films this year) it's got to be better than Top Cat.

Saw the Batman begins/Dark Knight double screening Cineworld put on the other night. It was amazing. Place was packed with people who loved the films. Got me even more up for TDKR tomorrow, which I didn't think possible.
