The Movie Thread

So Last night I went to go watch Snow White and the Huntsman - AKA Thor kissing a vampire to bring her back to life while Blackbeard the pirate is a greedy midget...

What a crappy Movie!! Don't watch it!! the beginning takes way too long to get into the story, and the end is dull and the fight scenes, very short and uninspiring...

I believe ya, missing that one ever since I heard it was 'Lord of the rings for the ladies'.

Last two movies I've seen in the theater (or theatre, if you prefer): John Carter and Avengers. Loved both.

As a comic book reader, I'd say Avengers is as near to a perfect comic book movie as one can get, but - comics aside - it's also as near to a perfect action movie as one can get, too.

As a fan of early 20th century pulp fiction, as well as author Michael Moorcock (a fan himself of Burroughs), on whose site we've discussed the movie in depth, I found John Carter to be a breath of fresh air. One of the most satisfying endings of any movie I've ever seen. John Carter makes you think; it doesn't spoon feed everything to the viewer right from the beginning. Instead, you have to watch and be patient (hard for the modern 'instant gratification' movie goer), but for me the answers and the payoff at the end were all worth it.

Prometheus

Bitterly disappointed. It was basically another "xenomorph wipes out crew; only the toughest megabitch survives" type movie like Alien.

As a supposed prequel to the Alien Trilogy, is was a fantastic premise that showed a lot of promise, but in the end, fell utterly short on delivery.

Fassbender is not a patch on Ian Holm or Lance Henriksen as the android.

it gets a 4 out of 10 for me, with special effects it only redeeming feature.

Sione's wedding 2 unfinished business, not a bad movie but the first one is better

Just watched Taken after seeing the trailer for Taken 2. Man oh man should Liam Neeson be James Bond.

I remember seeing the ad for Taken and thinking that was the best ad ever then I saw the new one. I think it may have beaten the originals.

I know what you mean I'm like that for a few "classics" but if you like action revenge type films you'll love it. Liam Neeson brings loads of presence to it and really shows how much of a badass he's become and how he had definitely chamged his style from epics and biopics to action.

Talking of big Liam. I have just watched The Grey. I enjoyed it for what it is a fun no brainer to fill a few hours. Not a bad film by any stretch im my opinion not sure how others feel.
