The Movie Thread

I'm staying up to watch my dog, he got de-manned today so I have to make sure he doesn't chew at his stitches. I'd put the cone on him, but I've never seen anything more miserable in my life.

Anyway, it's as good an excuse as any to watch The Godfather again. As clichéd as it is, I've never seen a better pair of films.

Best ever movie: The Shawshank Redemption
Best ever trilogy: The Godfather

I'm down with this, the Godfather can blame the 3rd for not hanging with Star Wars if you don't let the prequels bring them down, and Indiana Jones if you don't let the fourth installment do the same there.

Star Wars way ahead of its time... made in the 70s... go look at the 1st movie, see hwo the incredible the special effect were for a movie in those years!!!

Star Wars ruled the world!!! i don't think a trilogy ever made such a big impact the way star wars did...

it made James Lucas a billionaire... i rate the godfather thrilogy way higher than LOTR though...
 
They usually call it "The Old Trilogy" and "The **** Trilogy" Heineken :D
 
Going to see Ted tomorrow, heard good things about it, very excited to see it.
 
Saw Batman, pretty average. 6/10. Ok if you're about 15 years old.

i'm going to see it tonigh... i'm preparing myself to be disappointed!!!

sequals hardly ever beat the 1st movie... i think it was only Terminator 2 that blew the 1st movie out of the water...

well BB was not the 1st Batman... the 1st was made in the 50s and that was crap... lol
but BB for me is the best batman to date (and believe me, i'm a huge Christian Bale fan!!!!) just like the best bond to date Dr.no is, well actually Goldfinger is/was lol

The Godfather II > The Godfather. Darker, but lots more depth. It's a really interesting examination of humanity.

Wrath of Khan was way better than the first Star Trek film. So much Wrath.

Wayne's World II is a better film than the first, albeit with the exact same plot.

Toy Story 2.

Aliens was probably slightly better than Alien.
 
Some would say Terminator 2 Judgement Day is better than the first Terminator, I'm not one of them but I'll accept arguments for that, I think they are both good flicks.
