Butterfly Effect II. Heard great things about the original, but this was only ok. Got silly with the thugs wanting their investment back and the shooting in the restaurant. 5/10.[/b]
The first one of those is amazing, imo. Really really great film,
Not seen any of the sequels, but apparently they don't hold a candle to the original

Citizen Kane is a bridge too far. Never got why it was soooo great.[/b]

I was thinking exactly that when Sir Speedy was referring to M saying, "Greatest film ever?"
Citizen Kane is such a bore, but heavens forbid you tell that to someone who is an avid film lover. For some reason you just have to follow what everyone else says.

I haven't seen Citizen Kane, but I believe it's considered one of the most influential films of all time. Not that that means much to me though. If I don't enjoy a film, I don't; its influence is of little consequence to my opinion.

And Silence of the Lambs is great. Every scene with Hopkins is brilliantly disturbing.

For A Few Dollars More. Perhaps the coolest movie ever made. Eastwood is alright but Van Cleef is easily the star of this. Brilliant movie with the best music ever composed for a film. 10/10.

Once Upon A Time in The West. More Leone. Some of the most orgasmic cinematography you'll ever see, great performances and another outstanding score. 10/10.

Watched it when it was on telly the other night even though I've already got it on DVD twice. Fanfcukingtastic.

Touche, Charles. Touche!
LOL

Watched A Few Dollars More as well.
I'm only watching these spaghetti westerns for the first time and i didn't think Fist Full of dollars could have been beaten, but it was easily surpassed.
Looking forward to Good, bad and the ugly on this monday.

Also watched War, with Jason statham and Jet Li.
So, a Jet Li film with Jet Li doing hardly any fight until the last few minutes at the end.
Awful.

Watched In The Loop today.
All round quite entertaining film. Lots of good satire and some very funny moments. The main scottish guy is not only a brilliantly written character, but a brilliantly acted one as well. Enjoyed it a lot.

Kissing Jessica Stein - I happily turned off this film 15 minutes in. Bored out of my mind.

Blood Diamond I watched last weekend and thought it was pretty good, I thought Di Caprio did a decent job. 8/10
Got in steaming last night to find my housemates just starting to watch 'Let the Right one In'; some Scandinavian vampire film, but not the conventional slasher gore flick.
I dunno if it was because I was howling, but I thought it was a load of ****. 3/10

Pisstake of Hollywood conventions

Just watched 'Death Wish 3' on channel 3. Fantastic! Paper thin plot and totally unrealistic situation but incredibly enjoyable.

Then I turned over to 1 and guess what......Arachnaphobia :D

I don't really get Citizen Kane. Nor Withnail And I.

And I don't get The Big Lebowski. But I like this f***ing short version ...

Aye, Citizen Kane was probably the weakest of them to be honest. The central theme of the film seemed to be too thin or tenious to stretch out over an hour and a hlaf. A good film, but far from a masterpiece.

Watched Oldschool last night, oh how we laughed.

Invictus and might go for the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy s I only saw the last one

Full Metal Jacket. There is an unbelievable level of detail put into the Vietnam half of the movie. One of the most realistic looking war movies you'll ever see, with some typically excellent cinematography by Kubrick. He is the master of it. The first half is what makes the movie, though. Really the first forty minutes are perfect to watch; the drill instructor is so entertaining to watch, though he's a horrible ****. 9/10.

Great scene from Bugsy:
