Super Rugby: Sharks vs. Crusaders in Durban (05/04/2013)

Sharks just destroyed the Saders scrum and got a penalty, leading by 1 again
Lambie kicking like a BOSS

Blyendaal misses a long range kick

JP trangresses (bloody stupid, could have been binned), Blyendaal lines up again... on the angle 50m... and just short

Romano falls over (rather pushed over by his own player) , Lambie lines up... what a boytjie, sharpshooting
Sharks lead by 4 and 4 minutes to play

Lambie does a box kick into Saders 22, Dagg collects and 6 Sharks take him over the sideline
Crowd goes crazy

P.S. PSdT is going to be a big Bok one day

Knock on by Sharks, one minute to go, gona be a long minute

Craig Burden on with 25 seconds to go, Kyle looks bemused, scrum time

and my WOW, Crusaders blown up for collapsing, Shark penalty and they learned from the Bulls and kick out
SHARKS VICTORY!!!!!!!

Fourth only victory over the Crusaders, first since 2007
Well done lads

P.S. thanks draggs, you made me work tonight and thus I am still sober

GET IN! Thanks Gena, couldn't have done it without you. Wasn't that fun? Maybe you can try it next week.
Have a drink on me.

I do agree some of the calls were questionable, but it went both ways. It often happens in a tight game.

Bleyendaal wasn't bad, but his poor goal-kicking (he kicked at 50%, costing his team 11 points in total) might have been the difference. A few missed goals in the first half when they were dominant meant the Crusaders didn't have the point difference to cushion the effect of their fatigue later. They were always going to struggle in the second half, coming off the bruising win over the Stormers in contrast to the Sharks who had a bye.

Overall, it was a difficult game for me to watch, apart from that superb try. Still, 5 points out of the last two games is better than what I would have predicted just a couple of weeks ago.

It was 1am when the game came on. Watching the game half asleep. If I am not wrong...Bleyendaal miss a kick and the second penalty was even further from the last one...and Yet Crusaders went for the kick....when you miss the 3rd kick since the kick off......I think the Captain and team management has to change options..Staying on the same option put more pressure on the kicker...Think about this....

Gutted that Crusaders lost this game, because they were the better team all over the park; running metres, possession, territory, clean breaks, offloads, rucks & mauls all favoured them.

It didn't help to have a "Hometown Harry" performance from referee Lourens van der Merwe, who is IMO, not up to scratch at this level. He missed a LOT of defensive offsides from the Sharks rush defence. Fourteen shots at goal in 80 minutes (one every 5½ minutes) tells me that the referee is refereeing "to the book" without placing enough emphasis on materiality; a sure sign of inexperience at this level. Some of his calls appeared to be out of his own Law book.

The sooner we lose this BS of not having neutral referees in Super Rugby, the better.

There are now six referees from NZ, six from SA and five from Australia (plus one from Argentina) so there are no more excuses for not having a neutral referees in every match.

This!!

Lourens van der Merwe is pathetic!

Well done Sharkies!!

How much must it suck for the Crusaders, who have to play both the Stormers and Sharks on tour...

I think blaming the ref is a little far fetched. He was awful, as he usually is but it really went both ways. Clearly he doesn't understand the rules when it comes to the scrum, since he hardly penalized any infringements by either team.

The Sharks won, purely because they had more gas in the tank at the end. I will take the 4 points despite not scoring a try.

Technically, then, they lost the game ~ sige.
