Super 15: Sharks - Bulls in Durban (21-05-2011)

Plain and simple:

- Too many knock-ons (especially Willem Alberts)
- Bad discipline
- Bad decision making
- Terrible passing

All in all a deserved win for the Bulls. Congrats to you guys

Awful.
Alberts, McLeod, Terblanche are seriously poor.
Our pack didn't want to scrummage and our backs just wanted to kick.

If you want to kick, that's no problem. Just kick the right way. Ludik kicked straight into touch, Terblanche kicked out of desperation and our forwards (especially Alberts!!!!) were terrible with their ball handling. Bulls deserved to win, there... I said it.

I'll say it as well. They deserved to win.
They were clinical in the first half and didn't need to do anything else after that.
Lambie was really the only positive I could see. Kicked well and did what he could with limited ball given to him.
Jacobs scored a nice try but his tackling was not what you want from an inside centre. I wish Joubert would have joined us at the start of the season.

Well that's my season over then

Can't wait until the gutless, wage thief worms **** off to their precious world cup, and 'leave behind' players that are willing to put the heart and effort beffitting of the Black and White
The worst game of rugby I have ever watched, even worse than that Highlanders 6-0 Crusaders

Men against boys, men against ****-scared boys...

The thing that really has ****** me off his how little the players seem to care.
When we lost the the Crusaders, the Sharks played their hearts out, and although they lost, they put so much effort in you could still take something.
Now they simply don't seem to care and make decent sides look great.

The other thing is that its not like these losses are shocking. The players who are effing up are the ones who have done it ALL SEASON.
Every match I ***** about McLeod and Terblanche kicking and Alberts' handling. Same story.
All the best to the Bulls, Stormers and Cheetahs, who have given it their all the past few weeks.

Gutting. The Bulls played like it was at Loftus, Sharks just keep going downhill.

Well done to the Bulls for a good win against the Sharks, these two teams know how to play epic rugby match against each other. I accepted a thriller, but noted as the game progressed that the Sharks did not seem like they were 100%.

The sharks did not pitch up for the match might be the fact that they came of a bye or some off the issues that you guys pointed out especially the fact that the basics weren’t executed. I would not suggest that their season is over they might look out of sorts now but they can still bounce back.

I am a little concerned about Fourie du Preez injury after he started to look like the scrumhalf off olds. He just started hitting form and will probably be out for a couple of weeks, were looking forward to the battle with Sarel next week. <O:p</O:p

Well done Bulle. Sharks killed themselves with all those errors. Sharks need to man up and stop playing like a bunch of Girls...i mean we have one of the Bigger packs in the comp. and they looked scared to carry the ball up and tackle...terrible to watch your team submit like that, no fighting Spirit which is what was a huge part of our Currie Cup last year...where has that gone. Screw you Sharks!!! Not Playing for the jersey; people pay lots of money to come support and then show no guts...Bull Sh*t!!!

Yeah, Sharks should have taken the fixture at home against the Bulls. Now they HAVE to beat them at Loftus to stake a real claim for a play-off spot. Waratahs, Lions and Cheetahs should be wins but all three of those fixtures now seem less certain to me if the Sharks don't come up with better performances; especially the Waratahs and Cheetahs fixture.

Bulls have it tougher than the Sharks as they have the Stormers in CT where the Sharks should pick up 5 points aginst the Lions. Both have the Cheetahs and Waratahs and while the Sharks are ahead by 3, if the Bulls beat them at Loftus they might just get ahead. Both could still miis the play-offs in any case mid you, though the other teams also have really tough fixtures:

Reds, Blues, Stormers and Crusaders have probably dne enough to feel safe for a play-off spot though the Reds vs Cru, Cru vs Blu matches will mean the others might catch up to at least one of these teams. The Chiefs would do the SA teams a helluva favor if they manage to upset the Crusaders and Reds.

The Waratahs have a tough finish facing the Sharks, Bulls and Highlanders. Brumbies should be 4 points bagged though. If the SA teams both beat them I'd expect the Waratahs might just miss it. the Highlanders have 2 tough (Blues and Waratahs) and two easy games (Lions and Force).

I don't see the Cheetahs or Chiefs as contenders for a play-off spot but they might spoil some of the contenders' chances. So, I guess in effect I see it as a tussle between 4 teams for 2 spots; the teams being the Waratahs, Highlanders, Sharks and Bulls. So the games between them (Sha vs War, Bul vs War, Bul vs Sha and War vs Hig) will be non-negotiable if they want to make a bid for the ***le.

Dreading the Cheetahs at Bloem.
We might have bigger names, but they can at least play as a team.
Isn't Kankowski back this week?

The cheetahs do pose that question and actually doesn’t matter where they play in a derby they can bring the pain. What did surprise me is on tour they also looked a better team and with confidence and some great team work they can beat any team any day. The Sharks need to focus and go back to the drawing board every week and from now on (take it game by game).

The same goes for the Bulls and the Stormers. I really would like to see at least 2 SA teams in the playoffs doesn’t matter which teams as long as it is SA teams. In the end it would just go to the teams that deserved it more and played at times with better strategy better rugby and had luck at times. Sometimes you just need to have that luck of the bounce in order to proceed.

Not sure about Kankowski return!
