Summer tours - England

I believe so, yes.

For avoidance of doubt, it's a no thanks from me. Good player, but a Welsh player.

Wonder if Marler will be available for England after the Lions snub - if it's a home tour, and with restrictions in England easing, I imagine he'll be available

Part of me thinks we should look to blood younger guys, but then equally Marler will only be 32 at the next RWC, arguably a props prime years, so I'd 100% want him in the mix

Marler and Genge are a hell of a pair of looseheads to have available over the summer - maybe chuck in a proper nipper to learn from them as well?

Yeah, marler would also have a lot to teach a young lh in any squad

Obviously i'd love to see Big Bad Bevan on the tour - however if there's a full u20s comp this summer (think they're doing the u20s 6N?) I think I'd rather see him starting in that than tackle bag holding for the seniors

Then again he's getting plenty of game time for Sale, so it's not like he's hurting for that

We'll be down to bare bones at lock after Jonny Hill's bizarre Lions call ...

No Itoje, no Lawes, no Launchbury, no Kruis and now no Hill ...

Ewels and Ribbans? Recall for Isiekwe?

He's Sale's captain (we're lacking leadership in the England side),
Lineout specialist (we're missing 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th choice lineout callers)
In really good form atm

Could do worse

If Mako had more weight behind him he'd probably just go down even quicker.

I'm sure I can remember Nathan Hughes packing down at lock once?

8 and Second row do have comparable scrum body shapes and grips, almost anyway

Current EPS, per wikipedia,
Bolded players unavailable for the summer, who are we wanting to come in? Will there be any unenforced changes?
I'm not sure EJ would've predicted so many players being absent, and concentrated in certain positions (both hookers and four locks, for example) - if he'd planned a certain number of changes he might rethink that now that we're missing so much experience in certain areas
Also: Who's going to be captain? All three frontrunners absent - will it go to Ford like it did in the RWC?

Jamie George
Luke Cowan-Dickie
Mako Vunipola

Kyle Sinckler
Ellis Genge
Harry Williams
Will Stuart
Beno Obano
Courtney Lawes
Maro Itoje

Charlie Ewels
Jonny Hill
George Martin
Billy Vunipola
Tom Curry
Mark Wilson
Sam Underhill
Ben Earl
Jack Willis
Ben Youngs
(I'm guessing, he might be available for a home tour)
Dan Robson
Harry Randall
Owen Farrell (c)
George Ford
Henry Slade
Ollie Lawrence
Joe Marchant
Paolo Odogwu
Jonny May
Anthony Watson
Elliot Daly

Max Malins

Also unavailable: Joe Launchbury

So
I'm very pro-Openside :p
Well injuries allowing and recovery..we could pick these...would that make you happy?

6 B.Curry
7 Underhill
8 Earl

As for the locks...
Ewells and Ribbans to start. I'd happily bring Isiekwe back into the squad and George Martin can get some gameitme at lock aswell.

What about Moon,? ...he was in or around the squad.

We also have Beaumont and even Sean Robinson if we get further down the line....

Would be happy with a dual openside Cunderhill mk.2 but I don't like Earl at 8, not internationally
Would rather see Dombrandt given a shot (realistically I'd like Mercer, but c'est la vie, as they say in Montpellier)

Assuming the squad were to stay as is, I'd be looking at:

George >> Dunn
LCD >> Singleton
Lawes >> Ribbans
Itoje >> Isiekwe
Curry >> Ludlam (or Ben Curry if fit)
Willis >> Dombrandt
Youngs >> Mitchell
Farrell >> Smith
Watson >> Hassell-Collins
Daly >> Steward

I'd also make other changes, but just going with Lions changes for now.
