On a side note, why are the Stormers playing JDV for one match knowing he could get hurt again?

Stormers:

15. Gio Aplon, 14. Gerhard van den Heever, 13. Juan de Jongh, 12. Jean de Villiers (captain), 11. Bryan Habana, 10. Gary van Aswegen, 9. Louis Schreuder, 8. Nizaam Carr, 7. Rynhardt Elstadt, 6. Deon Fourie (vice-captain), 5. De Kock Steenkamp, 4. Eben Etzebeth, 3. Brok Harris, 2. Scarra Ntubeni, 1. Steven Kitshoff

Substitutes: 16. Martin Bezuidenhout, 17. Pat Cilliers, 18. Gerbrandt Grobler, 19. Don Armand, 20. Nic Groom, 21. Elton Jantjies, 22. Damian de Allende

No idea why they are playing JdV, can only think he demanded it, makes no sense from a Bok point of view

I'm glad to see Swys is back, hope he is match fit. I think he did play last week for the Bulls-Lions game.

Hougi is out again with an ankle injury, no indication of how long it could be.

At least Craig Joubert is taking command of the whistle this weekend, so no jafta-like nonsense again. He is also strict at the breakdowns, so Deon Fourie should be less of a menace there.

If the Bulls can srum like they did last week, and Callie actually finds his jumper, we might be in for an entertaining match!

It'd be nice to win but I can see the Bulls being more up for this match than we possibly might be what with them actually playing for something still unless the Chiefs or Brumbies fail to overtake them on the log in the matches leading up to this one.

I certainly don't think the Stormers will roll over for the Bulls, but I can't see them winning either. I remember having the same discussion this time last year, how intra-conference matches will be tough because of long-standing rivalries. The results came out as RED 32-16 WAR, SHA 34-15 CHE, BUL 32-20 LIO. Sure, all three of these games were tight at half-time, but in the end the team with more to play for won pretty comfortably. The only upsets in that round were Hurricanes over Chiefs, where the Hurricanes still had a slim chance of getting into the playoffs, and Blues over Brumbies, which was inter-conference.

Half time 23 - 13 to the stomps. Bulls are making rookie mistakes. Venter is nowhere on defense, but Morné is having a great game!

Bulls can take this one if they play clinical rugby.

Stormers going to give the Bulls this one..
You prawn.

Couldn't help but be happy with the victory, hard not to be happy when your team performs. Still good luck to the Bulls! Hope they pull it off although it does seem like they have a considerably harder run. Apart from the home final, they in all likelihood play the Saders in the Semis.

Stormers going to give the Bulls [strike]this[/strike] one..

FTFY

For someone who claims to be South African rugby fan, how little you understand about South African rugby!!

ETA

On behalf of Chiefs and Crusaders fans everywhere. thank you Stormers!

This was a blessing in disguise!

I'd rather face the Brumbies or Cheetahs than the Crusaders.
Don't you play the higher ranked of the two?

So we have:

Brumbies(3rd) vs Cheetahs(6th)
and
Crusaders(4th) vs Reds (5th)

Hmm so that means, if the Brumbies win, you will definitely play them.
If the Brumbies lose you will play either the Reds or the Crusaders whoever wins.
The only team you can't play in the semi's is Cheetahs. Correct me if I'm wrong?

Correct

#1 plays the lowest ranked of the winning qualifiers
#2 plays the highest ranked of the winning qualifiers

so in the semis

Chiefs can play any team except the Brumbies
Bulls can play any team except the Cheetahs

Here are the four possible permutations

No 1: Brumbies & Crusaders win
Chiefs v Crusaders
Bulls v Brumbies

No 2: Brumbies and Reds win
Chiefs v Reds
Bulls v Brumbies

No 3: Crusaders and Cheetahs win
Chiefs v Cheetahs
Bulls v Crusaders

No 4: Reds and Cheetahs win
Chiefs v Cheetahs
Bulls v Reds

Yeah I know that.

But as a Bull supporter I'd rather face an aussie or SA team in the semis, as it would increase our chances better to win the tournament. Let the 2 NZ teams bash each other.

But to be the best, you have to beat the best.

Luckily we have a "bye" now and then some of the injured guys will be ready to go.

Stormers restored their pride and sent out a reminder of what can be achieved, sadly they messed up earlier in the year but that in the past now.
Bulliies need to step up helluva fast. Luckily close to Mommy at Loffies they are one tough team to beat.
